Tuvieron grandes actuaciones sobre el 14 de febrero de 1933 cuando 7 Hawk participaron en la acción de Tarapacá. Por desgracia fue un Hawk el que causo la desgracia de Santa Ana, cuando el hawk de Abadía al salir de un royo se precipito contra el suelo luego de golpear el palco presidencial, dejando 93 muertos y 201 heridos.
