FS2002 ALON ERCOUPE

This model was created with FSDS and animated with Aircraft Animator and SDLedit. The panel is originally a J. L. Stubbs panel for FS98 but has some gauges added from FS2002. The sound file is by Aaron Swindle for a Cessna 152. The airfile is from the Carenado C152 and is used with their permission. It has not been modified. However, the corresponding cfg file has been extensively modified manually and with FSedit to bring the performance in line with the C90 engine. Textures are my own and were done with Paintshop Pro. I don't think they are very good.

There are several Ercoupe models available at this time. I think you will find that this one has good flying characteristics.

Installation: move the entire "Ercoupe" file to the FS2002 aircraft directory. Move the contents of the Gauges file to the FS2002 gauges file (you may not want to overwrite any existing gauges). If you want, you can move this readme doc to the Ercoupe file. The aircraft should appear under Alon.

Flying: follow the checklist. An Ercoupe does not have rudder pedals, so check the Autorudder box in the aircraft realism settings. Since this plane does not have flaps, landing can be a little tricky. I prefer to enter a long final at pattern altitude (1000 ft AGL) and cut the power to 1500 rpm. Establish 65 kts. If you put the trim arrow next to the "T" you will hit it pretty close. From that point on, control your descent by varying the power 1500-2000 rpm as needed. Try to leave it at 1500 rpm right into the flare because if you cut the power the airspeed will fall off rapidly and you will bounce.

This plane is distributed as freeware. Please do not add it to any package for which money is charged. Permission is given to repaint and upload provided this readme is included in the package. For other modifications, please ask first.
