TURN ON WORD WRAP!!!

Hello and thank you for your download! FS2000's sound engine is quite a bit different than FS98's and therefore provides much more realism. It now uses multiple sounds to represent different thrust levels without a jumpy transition like with some of the downloads for FS98 that replicated the same format. I have thus produced this file that gives your L1011(s) new sounds instead of using the 737's.

INSTALLATION:

1) Go to your L1011's folder and rename the Sound folder to Sound.org or something else you choose.

2) Go to your FS2000\Aircraft\B737_400 folder and copy the Sound folder to your L1011 folder.

3) Go to your L1011's Sound folder and delete the following files because they are not needed and are just taking up space: Bbn21, Bbn23, Bbn24, Xbbn13, Xban14, Xbbn14, Xbbn21, Xbbn23, and Xbbn24.

4) Now extract all the sound files and the Sound.cfg (not Sound2.cfg!) in this zip into your L1011's Sound folder. When it asks to overwrite, say yes.

5) If you want other/future aircraft to use these sounds as well, I have included a Sound.cfg for them to use. Extract Sound2.cfg from this zip into their Sound folder, delete the original Sound.cfg and rename Sound2.cfg to Sound.cfg. Open this Sound.cfg (with notepad) and edit the line that contains "TWA L1011-1" to say the L1011 folder that you extracted my sounds into. For instance, if you extracted them into FS2000\Aircraft\L1011\Sound, then change "TWA L1011-1" to "L1011"

6) I have found that the startup sounds do not play for any of the downloaded aircraft. I do not know why this is. Also, I have found that occasionally, upon shutting down the engines, a startup/shutdown sound plays. Again, I do not know why this happens. If any of you experience this, it is a minor FS2000 incompatability with downloaded aircraft I assume, and not a result of my or Achim Buerger's work.

That's it! Enjoy these new sounds!

P.S. A couple other minor "bugs" in FS2000 I've noticed that are unrelated to this file:

1) On some of the downloaded aircraft, they appear as though slightly sunken into the ground (the wheels slightly below the ground surface).

2) While flying in proximity to any body of water, land textures flash randomly in the water.

3) During dawn or dusk (when the sky textures are different than that of day or night ie. yellowish-orange) there is an extreme graphical flaw in which everything goes "beserk." Even though you remain flying, the sky textures blend with the ground creating one big mess. This is very annoying because I have seen some excellent screenshots of this time period in bra7342k.zip where there is none of this distortion whatsoever.

If any of you are experiencing these or any other "bugs", please contact Microsoft and inform them of your specific problems. If they get enough letters about these things, maybe they'll release a patch or something. If you have found a solution yourself, please tell me what you did to correct these errors. Thank you very much!
