"Doc George Flats" for FS2000

By: Mr. Ken "WeBad" Nelson
http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/webad/

Thanks for downloading "Doc George Flats". With sincere appreciation for the many hours spent helping others and for creating great macros and scenery, I've created and dedicated this scenery to our super FS Friend, "Doc George". Many of my sceneries contain something of what Doc has created and I find his works especially detailed for that "As Real As It Gets" effect.

Thanks Doc for enhancing my sceneries !

"Doc George Flats" is located in SE Alaska and almost directly South from Ilimna Airport (ILI), and Pike Lake sea plane base. So that you will have no problems finding it, I've placed the name and coordinates into the default FS2000 AFD, (Airport Facilities Directory). The scenery includes the new SDK Trees with seasonal effects, a couple of Doc's great cabin macros, my first created shed hanger macros, and my own hand painted ground textures with seasonal effects. Also, I've added 7 static aircraft to the scenery area however they will only be viewed in the "Extreamly Dense" display setting in the FS2000 menu. I did this to help your frame rates somewhat in the "Normal Density" setting.

PLEASE ENJOY !

~ ACKNOWLEDGMENTS ~

I want to give a SPECIAL THANKS to YOU and ALL my fellow FS Friends and users for enjoying my sceneries. Like most other FS designers, I find letters and notes of enjoyment don't seem to come very often but I want to super THANK those that have because it helps me know I'm doing a good job and I'd really enjoy hearing from you all if possible. Your comments and suggestions are always welcomed and used in future scenery designs when possible. Thanks to ALL !

I really owe Mr. John Grammer of Indiana, USA a great big "THANKS" for getting me started in creating Bush Pilot Sceneries back in 1998. It was John's original idea. THANK YOU VERY MUCH JOHN !

A Big thanks goes to Brian McWilliams and the entire Flight Sim Group for creating the "Freeware" Scenery design program Airport 210. It's unfortunate that Brian and the group have been disbanded for quite some time now and the Flight Sim Group web page is no longer available at this time. I still find myself hoping they'll all return someday. Thanks guys !

Tom Hiscox Created the Airport program upgrade v2.60 and has done some really EXCELLENT work in adding many features to it which makes it easier to use and Compatible for FS2000 scenery design. I really appreciate Tom's hard work, time and efforts in helping me and others create a scenery that's enjoyable for ALL. Thank You so much Tom !

Manfred Moldenhauer For creating and allowing his SCASM scenery compiler program for FS to be used with the new Airport v2.60 upgrade. I was really excited when the new 2.50 version of scasm was introduced as it's especially created by Manfred for FS2000 scenery design and it really works nicely at that. It's people like Manfred that help make our FS Experience more fun and enjoyable and I couldn't create a scenery without ALL the above mentioned names. Thanks Manfred and ALL !

I enjoy ADDING 3rd Party 3D Macros to the scenery file so the FS user has a more pleasant and enjoyable experience. And I want to give a Super Big Thank You to the following designers for their hard work and effort to help make my sceneries look way they do. Maybe someday I'll learn to create such Excellent 3d macros as well.

Doc George, has created some newer cabin macros especially for FS2000 and I want to definitely thank Doc for them. Their excellent looking and again they really add to the realism of the scenery. I really appreciate your help and expertise Doc. Super Thanks Bro !

Ron Ackerley for creating his famous Piper Super Cubs, I really enjoy using them while creating scenery. Ron is a true artist in ALL sense of the word and his help and talents are extremely appreciated. Thanks again my FS Friend !

Mark Remien For creating all the great "Wild Life" macros. The great Alaskan outdoors needs wild life for sure. Thanks Mark !

Fred Banting and Yannick Lavigne for creating, 3 versions, of my most favorite Aircraft to fly the FS Bush Pilot sceneries. "The DeHaviland DHC-2 Beaver" Both of these artists are a true asset to the world Flightsim Community. Thanks Super much Fred and Yannick !

Also, a Special Thanks to Gerrish Gray for the SDK tree macros, Jim Jackson for his seasonal dock macros, and ALL the Aircraft Authors to which I used their works as static aircraft including, Fred Banting, Jerry Arzdorf, Bob Wening, and Graham Waterfield. Thanks super much guys !

I really feel it's important to also THANK the many designers and programmers of the many add-ons and scenery design tools we use to design sceneries. These people work hard in the background and don't usually get mentioned for spending their own time helping many users enjoy FS to it's fullest. So I'd like to add a BIG THANKS to: Tom Hiscox, Manfred Moldenhauer, Bob Bernstein, Chuck Dome, Martin Wright, Ralf-Juergen Triebe, Andreas Klisch, Garvin Barnicoat, the developers at Microsoft. ALL the excellent and helpful scenery designers at the Scenery Design Forum at SurClaro, and especially those names I forgot to mention. The ABOVE names and the entire FLIGHTSIM Community makes my FS Experience "AS REAL AS IT GETS" and ENJOYABLE !
