GENERAL NOTES AND COMMENTS:

IMPORTANT

This scenery is an addon to Lou9.0-R which must be fully installed and working properly. It is located at
SurClaro as Lou9.0-R.zip. It requires Gerrish Gray's trees for optimum views of the scenery. See the
documentation of Lou9.0-R for details concerning the Louisville scenery.

The textures for the four seasons used in this release are Microsoft's and are not included with this release.
The textures used must be converted using BMP2000 and stored in the Lou9.0-R texture folder. This
step is necessary because the SCASM program used to generate this scenery does not decompress the
compressed MS textures. If the textures are not processed by BMP2000 and stored correctly the missing or
erroneously named texture will appear as a solid color or cause an error message.

This release is a set of files that makes corrections to a few problems in FS9.0-R, adds new or replacement
buildings with photorealistic textures and allows season textures to show in areas previously showing only
one season textures. Two new buildings have been added near the Ohio river, and the Kentucky Exposition
Center has been significantly revamped to include more detailed buildings with photoreal textures. Because
it is in direct line with the N-S runways of SDF the new buildings provide a more realistic view on take off
or landing. A previous church and Cinema has been revamped with more detail and new photoreal textures.

Six screen shots may be seen in the Doc9.1-R folder featuring the additions.

INSTALLATION

Please follow these instructions carefully to avoid problems.

Using WinzipExtract all the files, except the File_ID.diz file, from the Lou9.1-R.zip file into your earlier
installed Lou9.0-R folder. Set the option to use folder names and the option to overwrite existing files.

Optionally you can extract all the files to a temporary folder and move the contents from the temporary
folder to their proper folders in Lou9.0-R. Specifically, copy the Doc9.1-R folder to the Lou9.0-R folder,
the scenery files into the Lou9.0-R\scenery folder and the texture files into the Lou9.0-R\texture folder.
Overwrite files when requested.

The biggest effort in this installation will be the conversion of MS texture files using the latest version of
BMP2000 which supports batch processing. The BMP2000 program by Martin Wright can be found at his
site which is:

http://fly.to/mwgfx

Install the latest version of BMP2000 by downloading both the bmp2k.zip file and the mwgfxdll.exe file
(latest dll files). Follow the install instruction located in the BMP2000QUICKDOC.TXT file located in the
bmp2k.zip file. A PDF file is also available for download should you want more detailed information.

The file conversion process requires copying MS texture files to the Lou9.0-R\texture folder, then
converting these files and writing them back over the original files in the Lou9.0-R\texture folder. About
4mb of space will be taken up by the new textures.

Carefully copy the following files from the fs2004\scenery\world\texture folder into your Lou9.0-R\texture
folder. These files are scattered over several hundred files making this job a bit tedious. The MS files
appear in order so that eases the task somewhat.

Start the BMP2000 program and click on the folder icon. A new screen will appear.

Select the Source folder, which is your Lou9.0-R\texture folder.

Select the Source Image files which are the 20 files shown above. They should appear grouped together
making their selection easy. Do NOT convert any of the other files in the Lou9.0-R\texture folder.

Select the Destination folder the same as the Source Folder, your Lou9.0-R folder.

Click the "Convert Selected Images" button. A message box will appear with text indicating the source and
destination folders are the same, that the existing files will be overwritten and asks "Continue?". Respond
by pressing the OK button. The first screen reappears and conversion begins and quickly ends with the last
texture converted appearing on the screen in its 9 different formats.

Exit the program.

Now run your Lou9.0-R scenery with the Lou9.1-R additions you just made. Enjoy.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Microsoft and BAO for providing the flight simulator and their continuing improvement of the software.

The creators of SCASM and Airport for their interface to FS making custom scenery possible with
supporting textures and to the individuals that supplied the .api and .scm objects that may be included in the
sceneries and their very helpful coding that served as a backbone for understanding the workings of scenery
programming.

To Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7 creators that provide powerful tools for the creation and manipulation of textures.

To Martin Wright for his fantastic bmp2000 and dxtbmp tools that help create compatible textures for
fs2002.

To Gerrish Gray for his superb tree macros.

To Norman Campbell for his R8Paint program used to create some of the texture files in the Louisville
scenery and some of the Ohio river scenery.

To Luis Viera de Sa for his cessna and c-130 api macros, and those persons who created the texture files.

To E. Resnik for his Chicago Smoke effects.

To Matthias Bruckner for his program to convert MS effect files into macros.

To the many who have provided encouragement and input on improvements to the software, including: Neil
Perrin, Robert Toole, Doug Horton, Frank McCabe, B&T(Bob..), John Whitler, Paul Wittke, Mark Volstad,
and Bill Leahy. (In order of their initial messages to me).

To Joe Brown, Flight Operations Manager of Aircraft Specialist, Inc., for his information about the JVY
airfield.

To Robert C. Clement, Tom Stryker, Ron Hall and Laura Benson at Bowman Field for their list of Visual
Reporting Points near Bowman. Also more thanks to Tom Stryker for flying me around Lousiville to
compare this scenery with the real world.

To Ted Kessel, Roger Gaylor and Jim Rhoads for beta testing earlier versions.

To Doug Horton who suggested the use of seasonal textures where they were not used in the previous
version.

To Dan Moore who prompted the use of photoreal textures on buildings. As a consequence the revamping
of the Kentucky Exposition Center was initiated. Photoreal textures for buildings is a continuing process
and future releases will include them.
