FS2004 Dornier DO-18"Zyklon"

The Do-18 was designed a few years before WW2. The first few were used by Lufthansa on the Germany to South America mail service. They set several nonstop range records in this service. Several were given a couple of machine gun positions and assigned to ocean patrol duties when the war broke out. They were no match for the current RAF fighters and were quickly withdrawn from service.
I have always liked the looks of this plane with it's overhead tandem engines. I chose to model the civilian version known as the Zyklon because it was the only version I could find decent reference material regarding colors, etc. I'm sure there is a lot more info out there, but I stopped when I found this version.
This FSDS2.24 project has the usual FS9 animations, a specular color shine, transparent windows, nav lights and landing lights. The 2D panel is "very" loosely based on a photo and the VC has animated controls. The sound and gauges are default. I compiled this project directly into FS2004 and have not tested it in any other simulator.

INSTALLATION: Unzip DO18.zip into a temporary folder. Copy the folder Dornier DO-18 into the Aircraft folder of FS2004. The gauges are all default: BUT for them to show you must copy the gauge .cab files for the Douglas_DC-3 and the Lockheed_Vega from their respective panel folders into the FS2004 gauges folder. Copy the .cab folders "AS IS": don't open them.
Close everything and fire up FS2004. The plane will show in the Aircraft Selection list as the DO-18 under Dornier.

LEGAL: This project is released as freeware. You may modify it, repaint it, etc., upload to another website as long as it is not for profit. Also, if any modifications were made to my files before uploading to another site, I cannot be responsible for their performance. You need my written permission to use any of these files for commercial purposes; otherwise just give me credit for the original design. This airplane should not hurt your computer but I am not responsible if it causes problems.
