Version 2 of Denver International Airport (KDEN) scenery by Harald Krause with help from Bob Johnson and Jonathan Barton for the RAFCAD file
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Upgrade Notes:
If you have a previous version of my scenery installed please delete the scenery and texture folders under the dia2k2v1 directory wherever that was installed. Place the new scenery and texture directories from this archive where you just deleted the other directories on your system. No further action is required after this point. FS2002 will automatically reregister the new scenery.

Upgrade Features:
All new textures. Added the new 16000' ft runway on the west end of the airport ILS freq 113.9. Rework of UAL hangar area. Rework of South side terminal A. Rework of terminal B commuter area. Rework of term A commuter area. Added some missing tarmac areas. Added guide line at all jet ways. NEW--If you do not like the taxiway signs provided with this download you can remove them. Delete KDENTaxiSigns.bgl from the scenery folder and all texture files that begin with Taxi*.bmp.

New Runway Notes.
This new runway is 16000' ft long as compared the all the others at 12000' ft. What this means is that FS will direct all traffic to this runway. If you do not wish for FS to direct all traffic to this runway simply change the length to 12,000' in AFCAD. If you would like to remove this runway simply delete RW16R34L.bgl and Taxiways.bgl. You will have to manually remove all the components from AFCAD.

AFCAD 1.3.2 IS REQUIRED FOR THIS SCENERY TO WORK PROPERLY. AFCAD is available at SurClaro or SurClaro.com.

-------------------------------------------------------

New Installation ONLY:

Copy the entire DIA2k2v2 directory from wherever you extracted this zip file to X:\program Files\microsoft games\fs2002\addon scenery
Where "X: is the drive letter where FS2002 is installed.

With this scenery there is only 1 version ( not like version 1 where there were 3 versions ) The amount of displayed scenery is now dependant on your scenery complexity settings.

Very sparse ----- all terminals, taxiwaysigns, new runway and taxiways.
sparse ------ 6 jet ways per terminal
normal ------ every other jet way and jet way guide lines
dense ------ all jet ways, main terminal parking structures UAL and Continental hangars, airport roads

-------------------------------------------------------
Adding Scenery to FS2002

From the opening menu in FS2002 (if you do not have a default flight) select Settings | Scenery Library |Add Area| then point to DIA2k2v2 directory under add-on Scenery.

Or with FS open select world | Scenery Library |Add Area| then point to DIA2k2v2 directory under add-on Scenery.

No other entries are required in the scenery.cfg

-------------------------------------------------------
This airport comes with an RAFCAD. If you are not familiar with RAFCAD please visit http://projectai.com under unofficial download there is a section about RAFCAD. What this enables is the use of specific radii for guiding aircraft to the correct gates for that airline. This eliminates the use of overlays IMHO. No AFCAD file for standard radii is provided. This is a very good method and does indeed work.

Installing the RAFCAD txt file.
This file was provided by Jonathan Barton and included with his permission.

Copy or move the KDEN-w-Rad.txt file from the RAFCAD directory under DIA2k2v2 to your AFCAD directory.

Open AFCAD go to file | open airport . In the Airport ID box type kden click OK. This is the default airport unless you have made changes. Select file | export airport. Click Save on the export facilities dialogue box. You should now have a backup of the original kden facilities (this is not required with the latest version but always a safe alternative). Now select file | close airport.

Select File | import airport click on the KDEN-w-Rad.txt that you copied to this directory in an earlier step. Click File | save --- a message box will ask you to replace the existing KDEN click OK.

Runaway Setup.

---------------------------------------------------------

If you use PAI's United flight schedule you can fill this airport. It only requires about 5 or 6 different United aircraft. NOTE: The more AI traffic you have the more your frame rates will go down.

You can get taxiway diagrams of Denver International at http://www.aopa.org/asf/taxi/ and terminal maps at http://www.flydenver.com/maps/inside/index.asp. I would have loved to include them but they are copy protected.
