I've produced this scenery to provide an open and active Denver
Stapleton Airport, as it was before it was closed due to the
opening of Denver International Airport. I've excluded DIA and
it's new navaids, and opened Stapleton's runways and all associated
navaids.

I am not a scenery wizard, so all buildings and terminals are depicted
using either MS default buildings, or using ASD or Tim Dickens macros
(thanks Peter and Tim!!). The buildings and terminals are just guesses,
based on the FS2000 default airport.

FILES

The airports themselves are in den_3.bgl. The exclude files are
den5_01.bgl through den5_03.bgl. The nav beacons are in den_1.bgl.
The AFD entries are in den98.bgl.

For proper texture display, you will also need:

ASD 2.1 Textures: Search the file libraries at www.SurClaro, using
asd as the keyword.
Airport Textures: www.SurClaro, Must Have files.
VOD Textures: www.SurClaro, Must Have files.
Install all of these into your FS2000 main TEXTURE folder.

There are going to be updates to the above files; get them at the usual
places:

SurClaro: www.SurClaro
Compuflight's IUP Search: www.compuflight.com

INSTALLATION

1.Unzip the package using the Stored folders option. You should end up
with a DEN folder, containing SCENERY and TEXTURE folders. If so,
copy this folder into your FS2000 SCENERY folder. Skip to step # 4.

2. If you just got a bunch of loose files, make a new folder (DEN
would be logical) as a subfolder of the FS2000 SCENERY folder. Then
make a folder called SCENERY within the DEN folder. Place all the .BGL
files into this Scenery folder. (thus, they would be in
FS2000\Scenery\DEN\Scenery\*.bgl). Don't copy the other files here!
(I have my DENreadme.txt file in the main DEN folder.)

4. Load the scenery.cfg file found in your main FS2000 folder into Notepad (Start/Programs/Accessories/Notepad, and then File/Open, All Files. Browse
to your main FS2000 folder and double click on Scenery.cfg.)

5. Add this text at the very end of the file:

[Area.073]
Title=Denver Stapleton
Local=scenery\den\scenery
Active=TRUE
Layer=73

You will have to change the number in the [Area.073] line to the next
higher number if you have added other sceneries. I.e. if the last entry
in your file is [Area.078], then change the line listed above to [Area.079].
Change the Layer=73 line to the same number (Layer=79 in our example).

If you later want to fly in the 90's, just go into the Scenery Library
(World/Scenery Library) and click on the Enabled box next to the Denver
Stapleton entry to deactivate the DEN scenery. Click the box again to go
back to Stapleton.

The data on Runways, ILS's, etc. can be found in World/Map View. You can
go to the aiport by using World/Goto Airport; it's listed under
Denver Stapleton.

FS Traffic Users:

To generate traffic at Stapleton, you must move the DEN98.bgl file to
the main FS2000 SCENERY folder for FST to read this file! If you wish
to avoid traffic at DIA you must also remove it's .st file in the
FS2000\LTA\COMMON folder by creating a MODREM folder within the
FS2000\LTA\COMMON folder, and then (after Generating Traffic) move the
kden_.st file from the FS2000\LTA\COMMON folder into the REMOVED folder.

Produced with, and textures from Airport & Scenery Designer 2.1 -
