Convair CV880 / CV990 Panel Version 1.0 for Microsoft FS98
and FS2000 by Matthias Lieberecht

Thank you for download this panel. When I'm starting with this
Panel some months ago I had not many information about the
positions of the instruments in the real cockpit. Some weeks later
Eric Nabstedt send me a good shot of the CV880 Cockpit and then
I found a further BW photo of the CV990 in an Aircraft magazine.
With this photos it was possible to realize the positions of the
Gauges. Mick Sarbutts offers me his help in painting the Panel
Bitmap, so if you like this panel a great part of it goes to Mick!
The Fuel- and Flap Gauge are not placed correct. However I choosed
this position because I would like to have all instruments in one
Panel Bitmap. I do not know where the Autopilot was placed in the
real cockpit. Normally there are some light switches where I've
put in the AP. All other Gauges are placed correct like they
are in the CV880 and CV990.

One thing about the Engine Starters. I've decide to use the very
good Engine starters from the Electra (L188) Panel. OK, you're right
that these one are for Turboprops. But if you have a good and
realistic Soundset for the Convair you won't hear the difference.

Almost all Instruments are illuminated at night in both FS Versions
so you could also use this Panel with FS2000.

Known bugs with FS2000

This Panel can be used with FS98 and FS2000. Unfortunately FS2000
has a higher resolution as FS98 and so the text of some of the Gauges
is much smaller than with FS98.

Note:

I couldn't test the panel with the monster 3D-card. So I don't know
if it works correct with it. Sorry :-(

Installation:

You need to have installed Flight Simulator FS98 Converter.
Unzip the gauges.zip to your Flightsim main Gauges directory. If
you already have some of the gauges you don't need to delete them.
They should be the same.
Unzip the Panel.zip and replace the panel.cfg file to the panel
folder of your favourite aircraft. For more reality use a Convair
CV880 or CV990.
Unzip the Sound.zip into the sound directory of FS98 or FS2000
(not into the sound directory of your aircraft!). You don't need
to replace the sound files if you already have them.
If you're using FS98, unzip esound.dll into the Modules Folder of
FS98.

Credits:

A special thank to Michael Sarbutts. Without his help, the Panel
Bitmap won't look like it is.

Further I would like to thank:
Eric Nabstedt for the CV Cockpit photo.
J.L. Stubbs, Brian Kostick and Jon Shepherd for the Altimeter.
The HGHB Team for some of the used Gauges and the great Spoiler.
Christian Koegler for the Engine Starters and Fuel Gauge.
Dai Griffiths for a lot of the used Gauges.
David Durst for the Radios.
Richard Probst for the Autopilot and the Overhead Gauges.

Feel free to send feedback or comments. I'm looking forward to
your Mails to know in which part of the world this panel is used.
