FS2004 SE 210-10B1R Caravelle Aviaco

The Caravelle was the european precursor of the DC-9, or better said, the DC-9 was a improved copy of the Caravelle. There were build 280 Sud Aviation SE 210 Caravelle in Toulose, in the same building where today is assembled the ATR. The nose of the plane, including the cockpick instruments, where made the more similar to the Comet ones, to improve the pilots transition and the aerodinamics. Later, the cockpick windows were changed to improve the taxing vision. It was the first reactor with engines at both sides of the tail, a patented design that even today paids money to Matra (Sud Est heir) each time sombody use it. The plane has one of the better gliding coeficient, only paired by the Boeing 757. One of them made a demostration flight, with passengers but engines in iddle, gliding from Paris (starting at 43.300 feets) to Dijon (speeding up again the engines at 5250 feets).
The plane could be adquired with or without reverses.

Aviaco (Aviación y Comercio SA) was a spanish airline constituyed on February 18, 1948 when was released a law breaking the monopoly ostented by Iberia until this moment.
The first planes of the company were three cargo Bristol 170 and three passenger ones. The operation started with fruits from Zaragoza, Barcelona and Murcia to France. The passenger transportation started with the Bilbao-Madrid and Bilbao-Barcelona rutes on september 1948.
On July 16, 1959 the 65.82 percent of the Aviaco stock was adquired by Iberia. Since this moment, Aviaco mainly dedicated to the less important peninsular rutes, and Iberia served the main national and international ones. Iberia took charge of all the Aviaco handlings, administratives, comercial and tecnical ones.
On 1972 Aviaco bought six Caravelle 10R from Iberia, and painted this in gold and red colors. In 1973 bought five more Caravelle, this time 6R. On 1974 the gold paint was changed to dark blue. The Caravelle were replaced by DC-9 in the 80's.
At the end of the 90's Iberia made a reconstitution of the group, buying the totality of the Aviaco stock, and thus the airline desapeared from the market.

In this file I'm including the same plane (EC-BIE), as was before and after the year 1974. It's interesting that even on 1972 the engines already had the word "IBERIA" on them. Model by Mike Stone. Repaint by Alejandro Hurtado

There is a Sud Aviation Caravelle 10R of Aviaco for FS98 made by Rob Bennis in blue color, and "club simuvuelo", a spanish web, seems to have both models but there are "members only".

Warranty:
I love the warranty wrote by Andrew W. Hall:
"None. Zip. Nada. Use at your own risk. I don’t think
this will harm your computer in any way, but if it does, I
don’t even want to hear about it."

A last remark: Why don't become a repainter? There are a lot of planes with special markings. I'm tired of the usual F-16 low-vis scheme, or the usual 757 in Delta markings. Why don't a "Bat's outa Hell's" B-25 or a serie of Qantas 737s? The plane modelers like Mike Stone are very important, but they can't make all the painting schemes by himselfs. So why don't help they?

Installation:

Unzip crvlah65.zip in your "Aircraft" folder of FS2004 or FS2002, install your desired panel and that's all. This panel needs concorde.gau. If you don't know how to install a panel, just let the default one, but I don't like it.

If you like this, or any observation, send me a mail to dracosist@cantv.net
