Continental Airlines BOEING 737-800

This project is freeware. Copyright 2001 Kevin Platz.

If you wish to repaint this aircraft, please be my guest, there's no need to ask.

Note:
This project was designed using FSDS, so it will not work in FS98.

Features:
I've included animated flaps, spoilers, gear, rudder, elevators, ailerons and steerable nose wheel. Pressing the L key (assuming you haven't changed your key configuration) turns on all the lights (Nav lights on wing tips, strobe on top and landing lights.) Pressing ctrl L will turn the landing lights on and off. Pressing the "/" key activates the spoilers. Night textures are also included.

Installation:
Unzip all files into your FS2000\Aircraft folder. Make sure that "use folder names" is selected. This file is set to use the default 737 panel and sounds, so you may wish to replace them with your favorite alternatives. After installation, open FS2000 and select "Change Aircraft", then select Continental 737-800. After the aircraft loads you'll be set to go! Happy flying.

Description:
The 737-800 is one of the four Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft featuring extended range and speed, upgraded engines, avionics, cockpit layout and features, and improved fuel economy. Pilot evaluations state that although the increased passenger load coupled with increased range and decreased fuel consumption is great for the airlines' bottom line, the aircraft is a bit of a beast to fly in comparison to the 300/400 series. Continental Airlines operates 58 800s with an additional 24 on order. They are equippted with two General Electric CFM56-7 engines rated at 27,300 lb of thrust each. They can carry 162 passengers in two classes and 1,555 cu ft of cargo. The aircraft is marketed for medium range routes.

Additional note:
This is my first attempt at designing aircraft for FS, so if you have any comments or suggestions, your input would be most welcome.

Special thanks to David Eckert for his FSDS pilot. By the time I finished designing the fuselage, I had no interest in fashioning people to fly it. You single-handedly preserved my sanity.

Disclaimer:
Although I have tested this aircraft extensively, I do not take any responsibility for any problems this aircraft may cause.
