Concept design aircraft by Nick Pike. Version 1.0

For FS2000 with patches installed.
April 2001.

Any comments to n.pike@cableinet.co.uk

I became frustrated by making existing aircraft as this does not allow any freedom to practise design
'flair', so i decided to design my own 'dream machine' that would reqire an enormous bank
balance to own and operate.

The aircraft is a privately owned, 4 seater, dual fanjet engined type, fictitiosly manufactured by Boeing (you may be familiar with their products) and the version is a 575, codenamed 'Seagull'. The paint scheme is an imaginary house livery.

The aircraft has full moving parts and the details are:

Dual fanjet engines, with contra-rotating animated fans (manufactured by Rolls Royce - fictitious).
Undercarriage locking struts, steerable nose wheel and rolling wheels.
Moving flight controls and rudder pedals that move with the control surfaces.
Nav lights, landing lights at dawn/dusk/night with gear down, taxi beacon, also with gear down
and switchable strobes from the Learjet panel.
Special Plexipex canopy for all round vision withstanding high speeds.
Animated engine jet exhausts. If these are not required, delete (or rename) the file test.bmp in the texture folder.
Easy to fly, small (relatively) aircraft ease of control with large aircraft features and high speed.
If you get lost, there's a handy map on the copilots seat.

In my dreams, I should like to own and fly an aircraft like this from my home airport
(Gloucestershire UK, EGBJ). I produced this aircraft for my own pleasure, but uploaded it to SurClaro thinking that other 'simmers' might enjoy it as well. This aircraft is something of a frame rate killer, but should run well on larger, more modern computers.

This version does not have animated thrust reversers, but reverse thrust is obtainable with the F2 key. I'm on the lookout for the hex code, and may include this feature in an updated version.

To install:
-----------

Extract to your FS2000\AIRCRAFT folder using WinZip or similar program.

Panel and sound are the default from the MS Learjet aircraft.
Delete or rename the test.bmp file in the texture folder if you do not like the jet exhausts feature.
You can change the 'tail number' by opening confus.bmp and extras.bmp and editing G-PIKE to what you like, keeping the text to a similar size and in the same area of the texture window (note, 256 colours, size 512x512 pixels).
If you find the aircraft view jumps around a bit and is 'jerky' in FS2000, be sure to run FS2000 in the full screen mode (which you should anyway) by hitting Alt-Return keys together.
