If all you want to do is to install and run the scenery, then you do not need to read this file. This file contaiins extra snippets of information, mainly about the North East and Aviation topics.

A virtual airline exists, which operates out of the virtual Teesside Airport, it is called knight Air, and its website is given below.

Request For Information
=======================
If anybody could possibly supply me with blueprints/photographs for Middlesbrough's Riverside Football stadium, then I would be very grateful. This landmark is sadly still missing from Cleveland2001, and it is a major omision. It goes without saying that no scenery of Cleveland can possibly be considered as complete without containing MFC's Riverside Football stadium.

Problems With FS2002's Representation Of North East England.
============================================================
1. The river Tees, is quite a large river in real life, but in the FS2002 world, it seems to have shrunk drastically, and to have been transformed into a small stream.

2. I was hoping that Flight Simulator 2002, would provide detailed rendering of the North Yorkshire moors, and the Cleveland Hills, but unfortunately it does not. It does seem to be slightly better than FS2000, in this respect, but the FS2002 version of the Cleveland hills and the North Yorkshire moors, does not seem to contain enough detail for the numerous hills and valley's that the area contains in real life. In particular I was hoping to be able to recognise the famous local hill named 'Roseberry Topping', which would have served as a great VFR landmark, but when you go to the area where Rosebery topping should be, there’s no sign of it. One other major landscape features which are is not visible, is the cliffs which form the north-east coast, south of Saltburn, they are apparently among the highest in England, but sadly seem to be missing from FS2002.

Other Scenery Models I would Like To See Created - (A Big Wish List)
====================================================================
Flight simming in the Britain would be much more interesting if there was more to see on the ground.
The castles of the Northumbrian Coast and the Welsh coast (all castles, Cathedrals, and Stately homes for that matter)
More cities, especially York, beacuse it's such a beautiful place.

More cities in New Zealand, British Columbia and New England, which are my favourite overseas places to fly. All of the European capitals, and cultural centres and all of the Canadian, Australian and US State Capitals.

The North-East's History - The Canadian Connection
==================================================
The following website contains a great deal of facinating information about the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) who were based in North Yorkshire and Durham during World War II.

http://www.rcaf.com/6group/

An excellent museum exists, at Elvington, close to York called the Yorkshire Air Museum. This museum pays homage to air forces which were based in Yorkshire during world War II. This included the RAF, the French Air Force, and the Royal Canadian Air Force. North Yorkshire however is most closely associated with the Royal Canadian Air Force. North Yorkshire was in may respects the Canadians County.

The web site for the Yorkshire Air museum can be found at the link below :-

The North-East's History - The Australian Connection
=====================================================
The North-East has many connections to the island continent of Australia. Captain James Cook, the famous explorer and amongst the first Europeans to reach Australia, was born in 1728 in the village of Marton, which is now a suberb of Middlesbrough. Unlike many modern heroes, such as those invented by Hollywood and comic books, Captain Cook is real.

The link below will take you to a web page where you can read more about the life of Captain James Cook.
http://www.captaincooksociety.com/

Version 4 of this scenery will contain a rendition of the Captain Cook museum, which is located very close to his birthplace in the grounds of Stuarts Park, Marton, Middlesbrough.

The other famous connection that the North East has with Australia is that the famous Sydney harbour bridge was built by the Middlesbrough firm of Dorman Long. If you look carefully while flying around this scenery, you may spot something.

The following web site provides a lot of information about the old Thornaby Aerodrome.
