*****Although this scenery has been thoroughly tested, I cannot be held responsible for any problems arising from your decision to install it.*****

Tested with FS9.1

NOTE: Despite using lod objects throughout, the significant number of custom & library objects included may cause a drop in performance within FS, depending on your own setup. If problems are experienced, suggest turning off aircraft & scenery shadows as a first step. Some AI aircraft may also hamper performance, particularly those which have not been compiled as proper AI aircraft from the outset.

INSTALLATION:

1) Copy & paste the following folders into FS2004>Addon Scenery folder (removing any earlier versions of the same scenery):

CYNS_CUSTOM_OBJECTS_FS9
CYNS_NORTHSTAR_FS9_CONFIG_01
CYNS_NORTHSTAR_FS9_CONFIG_02
CYNS_NORTHSTAR_FS9_CONFIG_03
LANDCLASS

Add these folders via Settings>Addon Scenery in FS and ensure that "CYNS_CUSTOM_OBJECTS_FS9" and "LANDCLASS" are always checked. Of the remaining folders ("CYNS_NORTHSTAR_FS9_CONFIG_01" though "CYNS_NORTHSTAR_FS9_CONFIG_03"), only one folder is to be checked at a time, as each represents a different configuration of the same scenery.

2) Open the folder "ADD_TO_EFFECTS" then copy & paste the enclosed files into FS2004>Effects folder, along with the single texture file.

3) Open the folder "REQUIRED_LIBRARY_DOWNLOAD", following installation instructions contained within.

4) Import "North Star.vcpmod" into EditVoicepack by Bevelstone, in order to enable proper airport naming with ATC. With Edit Voicepack main window open, the file should be added to "Custom Modifications>Airports>Agent Names", the changes then being saved.

5) If interested in using the AI traffic, follow the instructions contained within the folder named "AI".

OPTIONAL STEP

6) Included textures have been saved using DXTbmp in Extended 32 bit (888-8) format, in order to preserve clarity. These include mipmaps but even so, take up considerable space. if performance takes a hit, the included alternate textures may be used, found within the folder "TEXTURES_OPTIONAL_DXT3". Simply replace the existing testures with these (see Step 1 for folder locations).

ISSUES/BUGS: The following have been experienced thus far, being due to the way FS displays scenery:

- When inside open hangars or the control tower, precipitation will fall inside the buildings.
- Aircraft lights shine through building/hangar walls (e.g., when starting up an aircraft parked in a hangar at night).
- Large aircraft parked in hangars will, upon pushback, turn and clip the walls (this has been dealt with by restricting the size that AI aircraft are allowed to park inside hangars). A 747 will fit inside, however watching it on pushback clearly demonstrates this phenomenon.
- FS9 fences have been built with some transparency in order to prevent them from forming blocky shadows. This results in background objects bleeding through if viewing from a close vantage point. In my opinion, the overall appearance of the fence is acceptable; if it proves to be a problem, the file may be moved/deleted from the scenery (CYNS_FS9_FENCE.bgl).
