1) Open the folder "Aircraft_Traffic". Copy & paste the enclosed file "Traffic_CYNS_FSX.bgl" into FSX>Scenery>World>Scenery folder. Restart FSX to enable the added traffic file.
2) If packages from MAIW, WOAI, PAI, etc., are already installed, many of these aircraft should appear once this traffic file has been activated (see NOTES below).
HeliTraffic:
1) Only to be used with the payware Heli Traffic 2009 program. Open the folder "HeliTraffic". Copy & paste the enclosed file "HeliTraffic-CYNS.xml" into the folder where HeliTraffic resides (e.g., My Documents>Heli Traffic 2009). Restart FSX and ensure Heli Traffic is enabled via the Modules window at top of the display screen.
2) Helicopter names within the .xml file will need to be changed to match what is listed in the aircraft.cfg files being used, as custom names have been used here. Helicopters intended to be used include the CH-146 Griffon and CH-149 Cormorant.
Sources for each AI aircraft suggested here cannot be listed individually, as they are derived from many different resources, and some are no longer readily available. The aircraft filenames (found in the Aircraft_CYNS.txt file) retain their native names, so anyone already having AI packages installed will have the same aircraft appear. Resources include packages from (in no particular order):
- MAIW (Military AI Works)
- WOAI (World of AI)
- PAI (Project AI)
- Avsim.ru (TOLM traffic)
Small traffic packages have also been employed (e.g., Belgian & Dutch F-16's), so if minimal traffic displays, it may be worth looking at the aircraft names as listed in the Aircraft_CYNS.txt file. Some of the aircraft I use are not necessarily the best options for AI aircraft (e.g., the longnosed CT-142, due to limited or no alternates being available). Other aircraft may of course be substituted simply by changing the aircraft name, but ensuring that types of similar performance are used instead - note that some aircraft types included here are no longer in service (F-117 & CC-132) or nonexistent (CF-220). Files within the folder "DECOMPILED_TRAFFIC" may be used to change aircraft types and adjust flight plans to taste. Recompile traffic files using Peter van der Veen'S AIFPC.
Most flights are scheduled between this scenery and a dummy airport (airport name 024C) located to the northeast. Aircraft departing CYNS travel to 024C where they "hibernate" until scheduled to return. This also maintains integrity of the original flightplans from MAIW, WOAI, etc. A second dummy airport (airport name TP11) is used to route overflights nearby, including F-22 and Russian bomber traffic. The only full flightplans included are for the CP-140 Aurora and CF-220 Grizzly, both of which have been created from scratch by myself. Any of my own flightplans may be edited to taste.
