FS98/CFS Douglas C-118 Liftmaster

The C-118 Liftmaster was the military cargo version of Douglas DC6-B liner.

The Douglas C-118 was a piston-powered cargo aircraft, developed from the Douglas DC6-B liner, built by the Douglas Aircraft Company from 1946 to 1958.

With the new plane, the USAF wanted an expanded, pressurized version of the popular C-54 Skymaster transport with improved engines.

The USAF using the C-118 in Korea and Viet Nam, and ordered a total of 167 C-118, some of which later found their way into civilian service. Harry Truman's first presidential aircraft was an Air Force C-118 called "The Independence".

The Chilean Air Force operate some Douglas C-118 between 1968 to 1980. This planes was former LAN DC-6B liners, converted to C-118 for cargo duties.

During "Beagle Crisis" with Argentina in 1978, the FACH's Dc-6B and C-118 received camouflage in green/tan colors with low visibility markings, operating as tactical transport on southern border regions.

I have included a damage profile for use with CFS1, with ficcional armament of 2 x 0.30 machine guns in the side windows, and repainted as Douglas C-118 FACH # 985, with low visibility markings, (during "Beagle Crisis", 1978).

Installation FS98/CFS

1. Unzip to Temporaly directory "C118fach.zip".

2. Copy "C118fach" folder to X:\CFS\aircraft directory.

3. Copy "gauges" folder to X:\CFS\gauges directory.
