RAF/USAAF Burtonwood 1940/1945 for FS95/98
Designed by Mike Dews and researched by Steve Anderson.

Designed specifically for Perfect Flight UK One and VFR Wales
(but may work with others)

Requires Vodtex30 availble from most FS sites.

RAF/USAAF Burtonwood has been designed to be as accurate as possible,as it was in WWII, but owing to the 256K scenery limit of Flight Simulator much detail has had to be omitted. The hangars, I hope are accurate but the thousand or so Nissen huts have had to go.

A VOR is included to aid navigation but in 1940 of course finding Burtonwood would have been the navigators job. The frequency is 108MHz.

Installation ; FS95/98

I strongly recommend the creation of a "Dynamics/scenery" folder for all your dynamic files. Make it Priority 1 in FS and treat it as any other scenery.

For ease of installation all files are placed in their correct folders, read the text file in each and place in your FS folder accordingly.

Start FS and from the Menu bar select World, Scenery Library, Files, Add

(* See below also ) For Path use c:\[FS98]\Scenery\Burtonwood\Scenery\*.BGL. Note BGL files are scenery files.

For Title use "Burtonwood"

Set area type to LOCAL

Make the Scenery active by clicking on the green button

Make sure the layer level is 1

An alternative way is to follow 6. above but instead of clicking Add highlight "Chicago" then Select Edit, use Ctrl+C to copy, click OK, click Add, Use Ctrl+V to paste in box. Replace "Chicago" with "Myscenery" click OK until you get back to FS main screen. Now when you select World and Go to Airport click on the Button which says Scenery from 6.0 and before[ FS98 only]. Brawdy will be there as an option.

A special note regarding texture file concrete.r8. This file has been modified to appear more representative of British concrete. If for any reason the file in FS/texture is overwritten and you don't like the colour just rename concreteG.r8 to concrete.r8 and move it to FS/texture.
