The real Anadwa VKh:
--------------------
The Anadwa VKh was the first of a series of three twin-fuselage, twin-engined light bomber biplanes built in 1916 by Vassili Nikolayevich Khioni, former chief designer of the Anatra Aircraft factory.

The Anadwa VKh was a 3-seater, with two Anatra D or Anade fuselages, joined by a new wing with some elements of the Anatra D wing, and was powered by two cowled 100hp Gnome-Monosoupape rotary engines. The pilot sat in the left fuselage, the observer in the right, and the gunner in a nacelle on the upper wing. The aircraft had vertical vanes between the wings towards the outer tips, for directional stability. The engine was cowled with aluminum, the forward fuselage covered in plywood, and the tail section, tail and wings were fabric-covered.

Test flights started in 1916, and a small number were built. Later models were improved and made into 5-seaters.
Technical experts of the time regarded the Vassili Nikolayevich Khioni dual-fuselage biplane models as "one of the best large aircraft in possession of Russian aviation", some units being built after the October Revolution under Bolshevik order. Top speed was 75 kt, and the aircraft was reputed to take off soon, to be manoueverable and easy to fly.

Anatra was an aircraft manufacturer founded in 1913 by Artur Antonovich Anatra at Odessa, Ukraine, then Russian Empire, which manufactured several light aircraft designs until 1917 when it was nationalised shortly after the Bolshevik revolution. In June 1918, the factory was destroyed by its former workers. Vassili Nikolayevich Khioni, the company's lead designer, went on after the company's demise, operating out of the factory and building several of his own designs. Many of these are often referred to as Anatra-VKh or Anatra-Khioni models. In 1921 he was appointed chief designer at the aircraft manufacturing plane in the State Aircraft Plant No. 7 at Odessa.
