After the launch of the Boeing 707, Boeing engineers decided that airlines who bought the 707 would also buy a short to medium-range aircraft. This aircraft was to be Boeing's first in their "family" concept of Jetliners. While the 720 was produced, it was a derivative of a longer aircraft and not a true short-haul machine.

The 727 had three engines as a compromise - United wanted 4, Eastern wanted 3, and American wanted 2. Eastern did not want Rolls Royce engines on the aircraft, so Boeing went with the JT8-D series, helping to make it the most popular engine on a jetliner. Boeing built 1832 727s, with a majority being the stretched 727-200 series, launched by Northeast.

This 727 is an all-new visual model created using FSDS. It features full animation, a
24-sided fuselage, night lighting, and proper coloration. I designed it to replace
the older 727 models on my web pages.

The aircraft depicted in N970PS, PSA's first 727-14 aircraft, in delivery colors circa 1965. N970PS operated from 1965 through 1969 with PSA, and was traded in as partial payment on
PSA's first L-1011 order. It now operates with the Mexican Air Force.

INSTALLATION:

1. Make sure you have "Use stored folders" turned on in your unzipping utility!

2. Unzip all of the files in this archive into your \FS2000\Aircraft directory.
If the archive unzips correctly, you will have a new "ps721dv" folder inside your \FS2000\Aircraft directory. This airplane will show up in your FS2000 menu as
"PSA Boeing 727-14 (1965)".

As packaged, this airplane is designed to use the default 737 panel from FS,
and the default sounds. This is to ensure compatibility with FS98 and FS2000. Note
that the textures on this airplane cannot be repainted using FSEdit in FS2000.
