OPERATION

This AlienUFO is for the more experienced simmer, who has already flown helicopters, bush planes, ultra-lights, military jets, float planes and speedboats, because this AlienUFO does it all ! The AlienUFO can land on ground and on water, and can beam down cropcircles through a warpfield, isn't that cool ? In the future I hope to make better cropcircle effects. Still need to discover how to do that.

The AlienUFO uses an MFD, Magnetic Field Disruptor, the same engine as for the flying triangle TR-3B that was built in Area-51. See www.alienufosecret.com for all the details. It uses 4 alpha gravity engines (2 fore, 1 aft-left, 1 aft-right) for forward thrust and gravity pull.

The MFD makes the AlienUFO lighter, by reducing the weight, but slows down forward speed heavily. It is intended to lift the AlienUFO vertically.

The gravity pull device is to increase the effect of gravity on the craft. This is used to reduce lift, increase drag and slow down the craft, similar to an airbrake at a conventional airplane.

This AlienUFO can also beam down cropcircles. I hope that one day I can make very nice cropcircle effects, but for now I use some stock effects. If you beam down cropcircles many times one after the other, FS2002 may ask for a restart, so do it once or twice, fly a bit more, and do it again, like the Aliens do in real life. Your system, however, will not be damaged in any way and the FS2002 software will remain fully intact.

Many of the gauges give digital read-outs that are laid-out in logical groups. You will easily discover their meaning. The panel includes an integrated GPS and HUD. The HUD can be switched ON/OFF from within the cockpit. View zoom is 1.0, the normal setting.

The Alien head at the front panel incorporates a radar and a 'too low terrain' warning light.

For beginning UFOnauts, it may be hard to keep the AlienUFO on the ground when starting an engine. It is recommended to create your flight in a way as to start from the water. For example, choose a harbor of the Caribbean. In any case, start first engines-1 & -2 , then take off, and once in flight start the engines-3 & -4 if you need more power.

Use your left hand to operate the mouse, because you need to click the switches frequently while using your right hand for thw joystick. Autorudder should be OFF.

This AlienUFO is a bit complex to fly, but soon you may want no other plane anymore. Special effects include vertical teleporter maser beam, cropcircle dropper, warp field lights, water bubbles & vapour. The sounds are not like jets or rockets, but rather like wind & rumble.

The AlienUFO reaches maximum speed of Mach 4.7+ at approx 55,000 feet.

For high altitude very high speed, and for low altitude very low speed, it is highly recommended to switch ON the AutoTrim. But when at final approach and landing like a jet, better keep the trim centered and switch OFF AutoTrim.

K N O W N P R O B L E M S

1 - If you beam down cropcircles too often, FS2002 may hang, so do it sparsely

2 - For beginning UFOnauts, it may be hard to keep the UFO on the ground when starting an engine. It is recommended to create your flight in a way as to start from the water. For example, choose a harbor of the Caribbean

3 - At low altidues at mach 3.3+ speed, the UFO may sometimes bounce back when exiting high-G-turns. Exit such turns carefully and the AlienUFO will stabilize by itself

4 - The two orange digital speed gauges give incorrect reads at high speeds. You can rely on them at low speeds though

5 - When switching cockpit views, the front view may be obstructed by one of the side views. Simply tap the view button of your joystick forward and the overlap will be gone. This is a bug in FS2002 related with windows priorities, according to some reports

6 - When only engine-1 is running, the Master Warning and Caution lights on the panel may be lit, and the external lights may not all be ON. Press the L key until all the exterior lights are ON. The panel then will turn green instead of bronze/orange

PS :

DO READ, STUDY AND UNDERSTAND THE THE DOCUMENTATION THOROUGHLY TO LEARN OPERATING THIS AlienUFO CORRECTLY.

It takes lots of practice to learn all the ins and outs of this complex craft. It is NOT like flying an ordinary airplane ! Remember, it is a UFO, and Aliens think different

It is written in plain English, not in Martian or Andromedian lingo ;-) , so no excuses if operating the AlienUFO gives you a hard time
