Airport Restaurants scenery object library for FS9 by Sidney Schwartz
Contact: sidney.schwartz@comcast.net

You'll finally have a place to get one of those $150 hamburgers when you arrive at your destination. This is a collection of Gmax restaurant scenery objects for use with FS9. They are intended for smaller airports that don't have the usual food court inside the terminal building. Some of the restaurants have an aviation theme, some don't. Most of them are also available with the signage removed so you can use them as small terminal buildings or whatever else you want. Also included are some outdoor chairs, tables and table umbrellas, and a variety of vending machines. Should work with just about any payware or freeware program that is able to place scenery library objects in FS9, including RWY12, Instant Scenery, EZ-Scenery, Airport Design Editor, etc.

IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT
*****************************
There are two different installation procedures for this scenery object library, "RWY12" and "Everyone Else". The "RWY12" instructions are ONLY for those who will be using the RWY12 program to place these scenery objects in FS9. Install the library using the "RWY12" procedure ONLY if you are creating your own scenery using RWY12! If you are installing the library because you have downloaded a scenery that requires it, follow the "Everyone Else" installation procedure!

The "Everyone Else" installation procedure is for users of EZ-Scenery, Instant Scenery, and pretty much any other program that can be used to place scenery library objects in FS9, EXCEPT RWY12. It is also for anyone who is not creating their own scenery but is installing this library because they have downloaded a scenery that requires it.

I have also included a couple of extra files to make it easier to use these objects with Luis Sá's Sbuilder and Jon "Scruffyduck" Masterson's Airport Design Editor 9x.

============================
RWY12 Installation Procedure
============================
1. Unzip airport_restaurants_SS.zip to a temporary location. You should end up with four folders: ADE9X, ALL USERS, RWY12, and SBuilder. You should also have a text file called PLEASE READ.txt and some jpg files. The jpg files can be deleted.

2. Open the ALL USERS folder. Move airport_restaurants_ss.bgl into your FS9/Addon Scenery/Static Objects Library/Scenery folder. If you are also using the Instant Scenery or EZ-Scenery programs, also move airport_restaurants_ss.txt into that same folder, otherwise ignore it. Move all the bmp files into your FS9/Addon Scenery/Static Objects Library/Texture folder.

3. Open the RWY12 folder. Move add_airport_restaurants_ss.xml into your Rwy12 Object Placer/Rwy12 folder. Move the entire airport_restaurants_ss FOLDER, not just its contents, into your Rwy12 Object Placer/Rwy12/img folder.

You're done. The next time you run RWY12 restaurant_airports_ss should appear in your Category list, and you should see thumbnails of these objects and be able to place them in FS9.

Move all the bmp files into your FS9/Addon Scenery/Texture folder. OR: If you know how to create and use scenery folders, you may install these files into a scenery folder of your own.

You're done.

ADE9X
=====
If you are using ADE9X to place scenery objects in FS9, do the following AFTER you have completed one of the installation procedures above.

1. Go to wherever you unzipped airport_restaurants_SS.zip and open folder ADE9X.

2. Move the entire airport_restaurants_ss.bgl FOLDER, not just its contents, into your FS Design Tools/Airport Design Editor 9x/FS9/Thumbs folder.

3. Consult the section of the ADE9X manual that explains how to add objects to the Library Object Manager. Once you have added airport_restaurants_ss.bgl to the Library Object Manager, you should see a thumbnail of each object and be able to place the objects in FS9.

========
Sbuilder
========
If you are using Sbuilder to place scenery objects in FS9, do the following AFTER you have completed one of the installation procedures above. You must know how to edit text files in order to do this!

1. In your Sbuilder/Tools folder is a text file called objects.txt. MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF THIS FILE.

2. Go to wherever you unzipped airport_restaurants_SS.zip and open folder Sbuilder. Inside it is a file called airport_restaurants_SS.txt.

3. Open objects.txt and airport_restaurants_SS.txt for editing. Copy all the text from airport_restaurants_SS.txt and paste it AFTER whatever text is already in objects.txt. You are ADDING the text from airport_restaurants_SS.txt to objects.txt.

It should look something like this:
3c73cd6011d457e05000df914a44d104 1 50 50 1 wep_us_wildcat_drop_gp
10be97f742697a6c0cb80ab5fb70f074 1 50 50 1 westgate_bridge

d14093f74b4772f32ab6858c402dd5e8 1 50 50 1 YE
End of existing text in objects.txt ------>2892dd594894a69bca7e1a9ecf7a87ce 1 50 50 1 Yokahama_bay_bridge
Start of text you just added ------------->[Airport Restaurants SS]

39990C78BC814746B840A2102F3003DA 1 42 18 1 restaurant_1a
39990C78BC814746B840A2102F3003DB 1 42 18 1 restaurant_1b
39990C78BC814746B840A2102F3003DC 1 42 18 1 restaurant_1c
39990C78BC814746B840A2102F3003DD 1 5 4 1 table_1
etc. --->

The next time you run Sbuilder and click to place an object, you should see Airport Restaurants SS in the Objects Category list on the Library Objects tab. Sorry, I was not able to create thumbnails for use in Sbuilder.
