description=Compagnia Transporti Aerei “Airone”, ordered and received during 1947 the first G.12s purchased by a private sector company. All four had 11 x 2 seating (I-AIRE “, I-AIRN “Barbagia”, I-AIRO “Logudoro”, I-SASS). The L (Long) had a fuselage plug both behind and ahead of the wing, moving the cockpit ahead of the wing engines. This version was powered by the original Fiat A.74 engines used in the lighter wartime G.12CR and G.12T and was now underpowered. Airone based their three G.12Ls and the only G.12LP in Cagliari (LIEE) flying to Rome (LIRA), Milan (LIML) and Turin (LIMF) via both Alghero (LIEA) and Olbia (LIEO). Airone merged with "Avio Linee Italiane" to form "A.L.I. Flotte Riunite" in 1949. Skin by Manuele Villa, May 2009.
