Welcome to my Air Canada Wide body series. This is my version of AC's A340-642 in their current paint scheme (this is a guess of what the a/c might look like). The first of three a/c on order will be delivered in August 2002 with the other two arriving in early 2003. Air Canada will be the third operator of the -600 (after Virgin Atlantic and Swissair) and will be used on AC's trans-Pacific and trans-Atlantic routes. I'd like to thank Camil Valiquette for designing this a/c and for giving permission to repaint his Airbus.
Okay so what's so different about this a/c. Well I have increased Camil's textures from the old 256x256 to the higher 512x512 which gives everything a nice crisp look (also used 24-bit colour). I would say the window/door sizes and spacing are all accurate to the real A340 but since there are only three prototypes flying I guess I can't. Anyways what I have done is studied pics of all three a/c (each one has a different window arrangement with the first prototype not having the overwing exit and the other two eventually destined for Virgin Atlantic) and determined what I think is the basic window arrangement which I then modified to an arrangement which I think matches AC and the current A340's (time will tell ;). I also used some of the nightmasks designed by Project-Opensky for their B763's. I'd also like to thank all the people at Airliners.net where I downloaded the pics to paint this a/c. INSTALLATION:
To install this a/c:
1.) Unzip this file into your Flight Simulator directory (C:/.../FS2000). All necessary directories will be created in your Aircraft directory.
2.) Happy flying.
