README FOR AERO2004.ZIP MARCH, 2004
****************************************

IF YOU WISH MORE SEA BASES THE FILE "sydcbase.zip" FEATURES SEA BASES AT GOSFORD,LONG JETTY,BEROWRA WATERS AND ROSE BAY.

AEROPELICIAN.
*******************
Just a short 30 minute flight from Sydney in your Aeropelican Twin Otter.
Aeropelican, also known as Belmont Airport serves commuters who wish to take the spectacular scenic flight from Sydney to Newcastle.
Formally owned by the now de funk Ansett Airlines, Aeropelican is privately owned by International Air Parts.
As far as I know no general Aviation operates from this strip.

As the main runway runs very close to Lake Macquarie at the Western end, I have added a small seaplane base and an access
ramp for amphibians. These are not there in realeaity but they do add the opportunity to operate a wider variety of Aircraft
in and around this very scenic area.

JUST FOR FUN. Why not take some tourists out to see the Super Tanker and Cruise Ship off the coast in your favourite Seaplane.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The scenery download also includes AFCAD files ( thanks Lee Swordy ) which has a Beechcraft King Air taking off and doing a circuit of the
airport before landing and a Cessna amphibian operating for the Sea Base. You will need to set up the Cessna208 as an AI aircraft (see how below).
If you wish to remove these events just remove the TrafficAeropel & the TrafficYPEL BGLs from the Aeropelican scenery folder.

AI AIRCRAFT SETUP
*************************
I can take no credit whatsoever for the development work that has gone into conversion of the AI Aircraft detailed below.
The author, Holger Sandmann, has given his kind permission to use his aircraft config and effects files to provide us with
an AI Float plane. Holger has received permission to convert many other Float Planes all of which you many wish to try
with the Sydney Sea Base Scenery.
Holger pioneered this type of scenery with his "Float planes at San Francisco Bay (Pier 39)" and our thanks must go to him
for his work. The effects you see with the AI aircraft is also Holger work.
Holger wishes to thank Hugo and Edrick, of the AVSIM Bush Flying Unlimited forum, for some of the key ideas that allow him
to make AI ships and floatplanes splash around.
The file to look for is ai_float.zip. Do a search at your favorite flight sim web site.

HERE IS A SIMPLE WAY TO SET UP AN AI AIRCRAFT TO PROVIDE TRAFFIC AT YOUR SEA BASE.
***********************************************************************************************************************************************************

1) Copy the default C208 Cessna caravan Amphibian float plane and paste it into the FS2004 aircraft folder.
This will create a folder called " copy of C208".

2) Rename this folder to whatever you like, perhaps " Cessna AI Float Plane".

3) Delete the panel and sound folders. AI aircraft do not need a Panel or sound of their own.

4) Replace the aircraft.CFG file with the one provided in the zip. (find it in the AI Cessna file folder)

***************************************
WAKE AND SPRAY EFFECTS
___________________________

Place the file "fx_AI_floatplane_spray-and-wake.fx" into your FS2004 effects folder (find it in the effects folder in the zip)
**********************************************************************************************************************************************************
Thats it folks, you now have an three AI aircraft. Just install the scenery (as below) and the whole thing will spring to life.

NOTE 1 Find start flight positions for Aeropelican in the "GO TO AIRPORT" section under " search Addon Scenery" then Aero2004.
********
NOTE 2 After you land your amphibian on the lake and are approaching the Western end of the Aeropelican runway watch for
********* two stripped "barber" poles. If you wish to taxi to the terminal, direct your aircraft between the poles to the ramp
which leads directly to the runway.

ENJOY. Drop me a line if you do.

INSTALLATION
*******************
For those unfamiliar with adding scenery to FS2004 you can follow the steps below.

Open AERO2004.zip & extract to a temp folder. Make sure you "use folder names" ticked. This will give you a folder called "Aeropelican".
This folder contains all the required scenery files and textures, other than those mentioned below, to display the scenery.
Place this "Aeropelican" folder where you normally add your other add on airports.

Now start FS2004 and open the scenery library. Click on "add area" and browse to the "Aeropelican" folder.

Single click on the folder it should light up automatically, you won't have to type in any entries in FS2004.

Click OK. Close the scenery library dialog box by clicking OK.

YOU MUST NOW EXIT FLIGHT SIMM & RESTART IT. FS WILL BUILD THE SCENERY & ADD IT TO THE DATA BASE.
****************************************************************************************************************************************

You will need APT (Airport 2.10 +) ASD, VOD, NOVA and NOVA GOLD TEXTURES, in your FS2004 main TEXTURE folder, for this scenery to show correctly.

These can be downloaded from most flight simulator web sites, including SurClaro [on the must have files page] and SurClaro.com.

Nova and Nova Gold can be downloaded from NOVA'S site at http://www.fsnova.com/
Then to download page, all the textures are there including the trees.

The texture files you will require from the NOVA site are as follows :

NovaGt1.zip
NovaTxt3.zip
NovaTxt2.zip
NovaTxt1.zip

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE 82 NOVA TEXTURES, 24 NOVA GOLD TEXTURES AND 68 VOD TEXTURES.
ALL THESE TEXTURES SHOULD BE PLACED IN FLIGHT SIMULATORS MAIN TEXTURE FOLDER
