What's new:
-----------

Version 2 of my Yakovlev Yak-40 was born to fill some gaps and visual
imperfections which affected the first released version, of which, just
an example in Air Ukraine new colors was, in effect, distributed on the Web.

The Flight Model, the real problem of the first version, has been entirely
rewritten as I could find more material about the basic flight characteristics
of the aircraft and all the previous problems have been solved.
It has now full STOL performances and it is capable of landing and departing
from short runways, although it must always be remembered that
it is more than 15,000 Kg heavy and has a relatively low power installed
(3 x 1500 Kg/th Ivchenko AI-25 jet engines), so take-offs from extremely
short runways needs some skills to be performed.

The Visual Model was also improved:

-New 'solid' and redesigned stabilizers
-Solid wingtips and tailtip
-Modifyed and improved canopy windows
-Additional texture for stabilizers and jet pylons
-New 'rounder' No 2 Jet intake
-Improved No 1 & 3 Jet intakes and exhaust when viewed with a 3D card
-Improved position lights and antennas
-Improved nose gear and main gear
-Improved basic textures

Especially the stabilizers were redesigned as they were initially
designed using just a side photo which did not allow me to understand
their correct shape. New photographic material I have found allowed me
to fill the gap.

Special thanks to Matthias Lieberecht for help and support in developing this
new version. He also made some own modification to the original (Version 1) Flight
Model and distributed the resulting aircraft in Aeroflot first colors together with
a very nice panel for the Yak-40.
