FS2K - BLUECUB.

BlueCub is a companion to my previously released RedCub. Piper Super Cub N83552 is a Cub Crafters remanufactured aircraft based at West Houston Airport, Houston, TX and is flown for pleasure. Thanks to Don Alonso its owner.
Once again I used the excellent Bob Wening mdl.file (see bottom for his original text) and many gauges especially made by Fred Banting.

It has a full interior (the virtual panel shape will be improved later), operating cockpit doors that function with the spoiler key, steering tailwheel, tundra tires, 180hp engine.

The panel, with com, xpndr and access to the FS2K GPS (press shift-2 or the toggle placed on the Garmin) is drawn for 1024x768 full screen resolution. It is best with a 16bit display.
The new textures are high resolution 512X512 size and allow a very good 1600X1200 display.

To start the engine you must turn on the master switch (including gen), mag(s) then press the starter button, it is the metallic one on the right.
Primer is a dummy moving knob. Unfortunally the cabin heat (blue knob on the upper right corner) is not operational.
On the lower right corner you'll find trim and flaps controls.

INSTALLATION

Unzip this archive into your FS2000 root folder (make sure Winzip has the 'use folder names' and 'overwrite existing files' options checked) and it will put everything in the right place and overwrite any older gauge files which have been updated.
Look for the model named "BlueCub" when selecting the aircraft in FS2000.

SOUNDS

The sound directory is an alias for the default Cessna 182 sounds.
If you've an other PiperCub with good sound files you may replace this line in the FS2K\AIRCRAFT\BlueCub\SOUND\sound.cfg file :
alias=C182\SOUND
with
alias="your plane"\SOUND
where "your plane" is the name of your other Piper Cub as it appears in your FS2K\AIRCRAFT directory.
If you've not yet another Cub I strongly advise you to download this file : CUBFP2K.ZIP by Mike Hambly available on SurClaro.

ORIGINAL BOB WENING' TEXT

The Piper Super Cub gained certification on November 18, 1949. Initally powered by
a Continental C90-12F, improvements over the years resulted in a Lycoming O-320, 150hp in
it's final production form. It continued in production until 1981, when all rights were
sold to WTA Inc. of Lubbock, Texas. A versatile aircraft, suited to many roles, especially
bush flying. Several varients were also constructed for the military, including the L-18,
and L-21...differing mainly in horsepower. There are now several manufacturers building
new Cubs or components of Cubs with any number of upgrades, including the popular 180hp
engine upgrade.

A few notes on modifications or additions to this model.
There has been a great response to the Cub, and many talented people have reworked dynamics,
textures, provided new panels, etc. to provide a wider variety of Cubs. I'm thankful to all
those who have chosen to add their work to this model. It is common practice in the flight
sim community to include ALL names that go into a project, including flight dynamics, panels,
sounds, textures, etc. with new uploads. Permission is required to upload any modifications
of this model. Additionally, I require that the names of ALL authors involved in a project
be included in the FILE_ID as well as the text file that must accompany any upload.

This model is freeware by Bob Wening. May not be used for profit. Comments, criticisms
welcome at robertw@rconnect.com. Enjoy!!
