This program will check and fix and visual model (.MDL) files for FS2000 running on Windows 2000. Previously, some models which where over a 64K limit for the BGL instructions would fail to load with a message saying "Unable to load visual model". This will fix the problem.
Installation is simple. Unzip the files to any directory and run MDLRepair.exe
The program is simple to use. Select the MDL file from the "aircraft" directory of the aircraft causing the problem. A message will be displayed telling you whether the model is OK, or needs fixing. If it can be fixed the "Repair" button is enabled. Pressing this fixes the MDL file structure so that it now should work on Win2000. The program will back up the original model from, for example, "daves.mdl" --> "daves.mdl.bk!".
Fixed models still run under Windows 95/98.
To use this program you must be running Windows 2000 (or Windows NT 4), and have the Visual Basic 6 SP3 runtime available. Actually, this is always installed in Windows 2000 as part of the operating system.
