VF-21 "Freelancers. Repaint of the IRIS F-14A Tomcat for FS2004
================================================================

[Please turn Word Wrap ON before using this readme file]

Thank you for downloading this repaint. I hope you enjoy using it. It is my sixteenth attempt at repainting an aircraft for FS2004. Thanks to IRIS for the excellent Tomcat and Dag Roger Stangeland for the amazing textures and paintkit. Thanks also to Dag for allowing me to use his original VF-32 paint scheme as the basis for this repaint.

This repaint depicts the VF-21 Freelancers CAG ("00") bird, circa 1994. The squadron was home in Japan preparing for their last deployment aboard USS Independence. The squadron was disesablished in 1996, ending 37 years of service. GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN! My thanks to all the VF-21 aircrew, maintainers and families. Payware F-14 Tomcat by IRIS. Repaint by Bill Casey & Perry Hayes.

INSTALLATION:
==============
NOTE: Before you begin, I HIGHLY recommend that you make a backup copy of your "aircraft.cfg" file! Please read all directions carefully before installing.

1) Go to: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\IRIS F-14A Tomcat\
2) Create a new texture folder called "texture.vf-21lv" (do not type the quotation marks).
3) Put the contents of the "texture.vf-21lv" folder in this archive into the "texture.vf-21lv" folder you created.
4) Add the following lines to your "aircraft.cfg" file. NOTE: You will have to replace the "xx" with the next available number in sequence.

CREDITS:

Bill Casey has been a big supporter of my paints over the years. For my last few projects, Bill has been kind enough to test my paints and to point out my (numerous) mistakes. It was Bill's suggestion that I paint this particular aircraft. In addition to helping me with the testing of this paint, Bill also did a great amount of detective work to make sure this Tomcat would be as historically accurate as possible. In appreciation for all of his hard work and interest in this repaint, I have given Bill top billing as author.

I would also like to thank my friend and fellow flightsim fanatic, John "CambO" Campbell, for helping me to test this repaint.

Thanks to David Brice, Stephen Vernava and Dag Roger Stangeland of IRIS for this fantastic aircraft, texture set and paintkit. Thanks to Jorge Luiz da Costa, Santoro Marco Paulo da Silva and Abacus for their Progam "FS Repaint." My thanks also to Martin Wright for his amazing program, "DXTBmp."
