TURN ON WORD WRAP

Davenport,IA Municipal Airport (KDVN) for FS2000

This is my first scenery design release so if it appears to be a little rough around the edges I apologize. I wanted to start out on a small scale so I decided to recreate my hometown airport. I tried to make it as realistic as possible.

Requrements: You must have the ASD textures installed in order for this scenery to display correctly.

Geographical Info: Davenport is one of four cities that comprise the Quad City Metro area. The others are Bettendorf,IA and Moline and Rock Island,IL. When you count the other smaller surrounding communities, the Quad City Metro area has a population in excess of 300,000. Despite being the largest city in the Metro area, the Davenport airport is not the area's major airport. No commercial airlines fly out of here (you will realize why when you finally fly into the airport). It's usually pretty quiet except for one weekend in June when the airport plays host to the Quad City Air Show. Over 50,000 people attend this event annually. Both the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the U.S Air Force Thunderbirds are regular visitors. The Quad City International Airport in Moline handles all of the area's commercial traffic. It is to be my next project, but as I stated earlier, I wanted to start out on a small scale.

Runway Info: All the information in your FS2000 Airport Facility Directory for the airport is correct. Nothing has been altered.

Installation:

1. First, navigate to your FS2000\scenedb folder. Within it, create a new folder titled "Kdvn". Then within the Kdvn folder create two subfolders entitled "scenery" and "texture" so that you that you have a structure of Kdvn\scenery\texture.

2. Unzip the .bgl files to the Kdvn\scenery folder. Unzip the .bmp files to the Kdvn\texture folder.

3. Go to your Scenery Library in FS2000 and select "add new area". Navigate to the scenedb\Kdvn folder. In the scenery title box, name the scenery whatever you want. I chose "Dvn2001". Make sure the "use this scenery directly" option is chosen. Click OK.

4. Make sure the scenery is on a higher priority level than the FS2000 North Central scenery. Click on the green check mark to activate the scenery.

I hope everyone enjoys my first scenery release. I will be starting on the Quad City International Airport in Moline,IL shortly, but like a lot of you, I still have to work for a living also, so it could be a while until it's done, especially with the warm weather finally arriving. If anyone has any questions or just wants to comment on my work, please drop me a line. I always enjoy receiving e-mails.
