ABOUT THE AIRPORTS:

There are six airfields in this scenery. The first, Alliance is a grass runway, 1000 feet long. It's located about 12nm northeast of Dave's Aerodrome. In the default weather setting, approach runway 10.
Next is Bradford Field, also a grass runway at 1800 feet long. It's location is about 15nm northwest of Trenton Mercer. Approach runway 6 in default weather. Third is Dave's Aerodrome located about 12nm southwest of Alliance. It's runway extending 2000 feet. Approach runway 30 in the default weather setting. Folsom is next. It's runway is 2240 feet of grass. Approach runway 33 in the defauweather. Folsom is located about 18nm northeast of Millville. Fifth in Mar Bar L Farms. With a grass runway extending 2200 feet, it's located about 21nm north of Miller. Approach runway 9 if flying in the default weather. Finally, there's Mt Pleasant Landing Strip. It's runway is 2100 feet and grass. Mt Pleasant is located about 29nm north of Bradford Field. Approach runway 6 in the default weather pattern.

ABOUT THE SCENERY:

Well I guess by now most of you must summize that I live in New Jersey. That being said, it is ironic that I have not visited any of the smaller bush fields. I've been able to make out some while on approach to Newark International. (Why is it that you rarely visit places in your own state, but see everything in another?) For the first time, I put FSDS2 on the back burner and rendered the scenery using rwy12 and Lago's FSE. Now to see everything, including the "walking humans", you'll need to have the Lago program loaded into FS9. This is a commercial product, so I'll leave it up to you as to whether you want to spend the money for it. You can log onto lagoonline.com. There is only one "bush" airfield rendered with FSDS2. That's Alliance. I was doing some experimenting some time back and created some buildings at Alliance with FSDS2. So, keep in mind that you will need the Nova texture sets for that one.
All xml files are included in the download and I threw in the text file for the flight plans for each airfield in case you want to modify anything. One note, Alliance's runway was by default about 820 feet, but the AI planes seem to have a problem getting airborne within that amount of space so I lengthened the runway to 1000 feet. I hope you enjoy the scenery.

ABOUT THE AIRCRAFT:

The aircraft used for the scenery startup are: Alliance-Piper PA20 Pacer-pa20_04.zip. Bradford Field-Piper Archer-piparch4.zip. Dave's Aerodrome-Zenair CH801-ch801_v3.zip. Folsom-see Alliance. Mar Bar L Farms-Cessna 182R RG Skylane-c182rg04.zip. Mt Pleasant Landing Strip-Waco-ccwaco4.zip.

In the flight plans, all AI aircraft are default with the exception of three. They are as follows.

AC# Type Zip File
182 Aviat Husky A-1B TD aviat.zip
199 Zenair CH801 Maroon & White ch801_v3.zip
266 Piper PA20 Pacer pa20_04.zip

Of course, you can exchange the aircraft for ones you like. Keep in mind that they should be for very small fields with short runways.

INSTALLATION:

Author's Note:

After receiving many emails, I find that I am a little off the beaten path. My FS file structure is not the default setup. So as you read these instructions, keep in mind that most of the files will work from anywhere as long as FS knows where they are. If your file structure is C:\Programs Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\ it's ok. Just place or check to verify that certain files are in certain folders. I will refer to the above structure as the DEFAULT FILE STRUCTURE, and the following file structure as MY FILE STRUCTURE. Which is: D:\fs2004\ and my scenery files are in D:\fs2k4_scenery\.
I have it this way because I've also done scenery for fs2002 and I didn't want to get the two versions mixed up. (Bet'cha can't guess what the folder name for the fs2002 scenery is). So in explaining where the files go, I'll try not to confuse anyone, but if I do, please contact me for clarification.

AFTER UNZIPPING THE FILE NJVOL3.ZIP TO A TEMPORARY FOLDER, HOPEFULLY, YOU ARE READING THIS README FILE.

If you don't have them already, download Lee Swordy's Traffic Tools v2x and AFCAD2x. Follow the instructions from the files and install them onto your system. While you're at it, download the texture files necessary for this scenery and put them into the main FS texture folder. They are: ASDv2.1, Nova, Nova Gold and NovaSim textures, plus my own custom textures. All are available for free at my website, www.lfssd.net (the "l" is an L, not a one). You may also want to download Rwy12.

Using the folders switch, unzip the file *scen.zip to the drive where you have your FS. Using your file manager (Windows Explorer) check to make sure that all the files are in their proper folder.

C:\My Documents\Flight Simulator Files should have the .FLT and .WX files (This is for the Windows XP users.) For all other OS the .FLT and .WX files are under the main FS folder. (I think)
Drive:\FS9 folder\Addon Scenery\scenery should have AF2_*.bgl (Refer to Default file structure if different)
Drive:\FS9 folder\Scenery\World\scenery should have TrafficAirportname.bgl
Drive:\fs2k4_scenery or Addon Scenery folder\Airport ID Code\scenery should have the aprt id code_*.bgl scenery files (The aprt id code folder can also go under the Addon Scenery folder if you wish)
Drive:\FS9 folder\Texture should have the following textures:
The ASDv2.1, Nova, NovaGold and NovaSim texture sets
If you have Lago's FSE 2004, then check the following:
Drive:\FS9 folder\Lago\FSE\Data\should have *.SE2 for static scenery and
Drive:\FS9 folder\Lago\Common\Tracks\should have *.OSC For dynamic scenery

I added my custom textures for this scenery to the texture folder under the scenery folder (aprt id code\texture). You can move them to the main FS texture folder. If it asks you if you want to overwrite you already have them and you can delete these if you wish.

Note: No custom textures were necessary for this download.

Activating the scenery in FS9:

1. Start FS
2. At the Menu, select Settings
3. Then select Scenery Library
4. Select Add Area
5. Go to where you have the scenery folder in the file structure and just open the scenery name folder ie; (N07) Then click OK
6. Set the priority using the "D" Key or the Move Down button or the "U" Key or the Move Up Button
7. Click OK
8. Close FS and re-start
9. At the menu select "Select a Flight"
10. Scroll down to your flight, hightlight and click FLY NOW
You're at the airport of your choice. Go fly.

You should be ready to fly. Happy landings!
