ABOUT THE SCENERY:

This scenery almost didn't make it to publishing. After a massive computer crash which destroyed most of the source files for this scenery, I finally got it together. I have done the city where I lived most of my life and now I thought I'd do the one where I began life.
Ironically, I've flown into Jacksonville only once. Most of my visits to the city of my birth was made either by train,(which is an adventure in itself), or by car. The scenery if fairly straight forward. The usual textures are employed, so if you are new to my sceneries, you can download the textures from my web site. You'll need ASDv2.1, Nova, Nova Gold, NovaSim and my own custom textures. Also, you definitely need Lee Swordy's Traffic Tools and AFCAD2. Go to SurClaro and look under the Must Have Files section of the main menu.
For those who have the Lago program, FSE, there are some stuff in the scenery for you too. Below, you'll find a list of aircraft I used in the scenery for AI and startup aircraft. You can download them or any comparable model and install them into FS. Create your AI list in Traffic Tools per Lee's tutorial. I have included the source file for the flight plans to tie into your traffic tools. As usual, you can contact me with any comments or questions about the scenery. See below for the contact information.
There are some known problems inherent in my sceneries which I am working on to correct. 1. you may crash into an invisible building. To avoid this turn your crash detect off. 2. Even though you are not touching anything, if you are parked close to an object and try to go to where you are parked while already in the spot plane view, you will get a message saying that you are too close to the object and FS will not load that scene. Go to that scene in the tower view and then once in the scene you can cycle to the spot plane view. Hope you enjoy this. Happy landings.

INSTALLATION:

AFTER UNZIPPING THE FILE KJAX_V1.ZIP TO A TEMPORARY FOLDER, HOPEFULLY, YOU ARE READING THIS README FILE.

If you don't have them already, download Lee Swordy's Traffic Tools v2x and AFCAD2x. Follow the instructions from the files and install them onto your system. While you're at it, download the texture files necessary for this scenery and put them into the main FS texture folder. They are: ASDv2.1, Nova, Nova Gold and NovaSim textures. Also my own custom textures. All are available at my website, www.lfssd.net. (That "l" is an L not a one) Using the folders switch, unzip the file kjax_scen.zip to the drive where you have your FS. Using your file manager (Windows Explorer) check to make sure that all the files are in their proper folder.

C:\My Documents\Flight Simulator Files should have FL - Jacksonville International FLT and WX files
Drive:\FS2004\Addon Scenery\scenery should have AF2_KJAX.bgl
Drive:\FS2004\Scenery\World\scenery should have TrafficJax.bgl
Drive:\fs2k4_scenery\KJAX\scenery should have the *.bgl scenery files
Drive:\FS2004\Texture should have the following textures:
Signs Comair, Delta, Northwest, United, Midway, Southwest, TWA, US Airways, Metrojet, American, ontinental, AirTran, Signature, Signature_red and Flight School.
If you have Lago's FSE 2004, then check the following:
Drive:\FS2004\Lago\FSE\Data\should have Jax.SE2

Start FS and select settings to add the scenery in the usual manner.

You should be ready to fly. Happy landings!
