FSAIRCRAFT 1.1
http://www.rahnsoft.com/fsaircraft.htm

If you would like an automated setup which will create the appropriate
Start Menu icons and an uninstaller then please run Setup.exe.

If you are experienced with installing files yourself and don't want to run
the setup routine nor create shorcuts then you don't need to run setup.exe.

This should not happen if you're up to date on service packs and the like.
However, if after running setup you get a message about missing DLL's or the like
then drop by the website to pick up the needed files.

Thanks for using FSAIRCRAFT.

RAHNSOFT FSAIRCRAFT generates a list of your aircraft that is installed to the aircraft directory. Point FSAIRCRAFT to the proper directory or have FSAIRCRAFT find your aircraft directory for you then click generate list and you're done. Even though FSAIRCRAFT was streamlined for "Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, A Century of Flight," it is tested for and will work with other versions of Flight Simulator such as FS2002, FS2000, and Combat Flight Simulator. In fact, it will work with any iteration of FS that uses the aircraft.cfg files within unified aircraft directories. You can customize the list's field width, padding, and specify a field delimiter and row terminator. The list can be sorted by manufacturer, type, title, or subdirectory.

Steps to create an aircraft list:

Launch FSAIRCRAFT.EXE.
Make sure that your proper aircraft directory is selected. The current directory will be indicated in black text below the disk drive selection box and also in blue at the bottom of the window. FSAIRCRAFT will default to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft which is default for FS9.
Use the disk drive and directory list box if needed to navigate to the proper directory. Or, click on the "Find Directory" button which will help you search for your Aircraft directory automatically.
With the proper directory selected press your "F5" button or click on "Aircraft List|Generate List" from the menu.
From 0 to a few seconds later you will have a list of your aircraft sorted by Manufacturer (if available).
To save the list to a text file press "CTRL-S" or click the "File|Save List To File" from them menu. This will generate a text file named output.txt located in the same directory as FSAIRCRAFT.EXE. The exact location of the file will be noted in blue text at the bottom of the window where the aircraft directory was listed. Note that anytime you click on "Save List" you will overwrite any preexisting file with the same name. If the file was generated properly it will be displayed with the Windows Notepad.exe program in full screen. You can reopen this file without regenerating the list much faster than generating the list by pressing CTRL-O or from the menu "File|Open Saved List File From Disk."

That's all there is to it!
Browsing Aircraft List/Images:

Once you have generated your list you can browse it by using the scroll bar or arrow keys.
Jump to the first letter of the first field by clicking on the list then pressing the letter you want to jump to (“B” for Boeing, "L" for Lockheed", etc.)
If images are available for the aircraft you're looking at in the list they will be displayed automatically. JPG and GIF images are listed.
Single-click an image to view it in your default image editor for JPG or GIF formats.
Double click an aircraft in the list to open its aircraft.cfg file.
The "decimal" numbers before directory names represent the section in an aircraft.cfg that the aircraft belongs to, such as fltsim.0, fltsim.1, etc.
-EMPTY- text marked like this means their is no data for given field. It does not mean their is a problem with the config file (although their could be), but that the field with the -EMPTY- text is not found. Sometimes designers don't fill in all the fields for each paint. CFS does not use all the fields this more -EMPTY-.
Make the aircraft list fill the full window by first making the window as tall as you desire the list to be then press "CTRL-L" or use the menu item "Aircraft List|Stretch/Unstretch List View. Press "CTRL-L" or use the menu again to unstretch the list view.
Other Options:

Default Settings: To restore the default settings for FSAIRCRAFT use "File|Set Default Settings." Equally effective is to delete the fsaircraft.ini file while FSAIRCRAFT is not running.
Saving window position, size, etc: Size and position the window exactly how you want it. This could include hiding the image box if you want. FSAIRCRAFT will open in the same size, position, and section view as it was when you last closed it.
Sorting: By default the list is sorted by manufacturer. To sort by any other field click on "Fields" from the menu. Then click the option circle next to the field name you want to sort by (ui_type, title, or subdir). When you regenerate a new list the leading/sorted field will be the one you picked.
Fltsim.x: By default FSAIRCRAFT lists all the aircraft found in ALL the [fltsim.x] sections of your aircraft.cfg files. If you wish to list only the top level sections (.0) then from the menu uncheck "List Extra Fltsim.x also." Regenerate the list to see your changes. This option is remembered when you restart the program.
Open aircraft.cfg: If you wish to open the aircraft.cfg file for any given aircraft simply double click it in the list or select it and press enter.
Field Width: The default width of each field is 20 characters. This seems to work best for most situations but if you wish to adjust the width then you can do so in the "Data Format" section. You can adjust from 5 to 40 characters. The fields will grow or shrink to fit the width. Regenerate your list to see your changes.
Field Padding: This will add 0-20 blank spaces to each field. Regenerate to see your changes.
Field Delimiter: You can enter any combination of 0-5 characters as a delimiter. Regenerate to see changes.
Row Terminator: Enter any single character as a row terminator or leave blank for none. Regenerate to see your changes. Do not use a row terminator other than to create a list dump. FSAIRCRAFT will not be able to properly browse files while a row terminator is in place (even a blank space).
Actual Width/No Pad: This will generate the list as-is with no padding or width adjustments. Regenerate.
