Note:

The "Wake 1941" sceneries in the North West Pacific area, was site of the famous battle during the Second World War.

This scenery shows the airfield used by US Navy and US Marines located on the Wake Atoll.

Wake Island was one of the key American outposts in the central Pacific, a vital part of the supply line between Hawaii and the Philippines. A small atoll 2300 miles west by southwest of Hawaii, Wake was one of the first objectives of Japan's military planners.

Composed of three small islands - Peale, Wilkes, and the main island Wake - the atoll was home to 450 Marines and sailors, as well as nearly 1500 civilians, including employees of Pan Am airways, which operated a hotel and seaplane station as part of its Philippine Clipper service.

Days before Pearl Harbor, Enterprise carrier had delivered the Marine pilots and F4F Wildcat of squadron VMF-211, who played a vital role in the island's defense on December 1941. The incredible courage of the Marine airmen defenders deserves to be remembered.

On the screenshot file you will see the known image of the american flag on top of "Camp One" water tower, the one which became the symbol of island defense.

All information are took through the net, for represent a wartime style of this American airfield.

I include static Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat, PBY-5 Catalina and C-47 Dakota.

Also, I have added buildings, hangars, static planes, refuel area (Combination of "Fuel Box" and moving CFS Fuel Truck), NDB Beacon, seaplane ramp, Pan Am hotel, Marine's quarters, Island Hospital, coastal defences and ground vehicles.

ADF are set to:

Wake NDB = 504 Khz (WAK)/200 km.

This scenery places Runways, AFD menu entry, buildings, static planes, and ground vehicles to the area of Wake.

The scenery ground surface was designed by Airport 2.10 of Pascal Meziat, Tom Hiscox and Brian McWilliams, using stock CFS textures on ground poligons.

The runway data, heading, cordinates and buildings are designed using stock CFS static objects and some API macros from CFS Buildings for Airport 2.10 designed by Ralf Triebel and Jorn Kudla, and VOD 2.7 by Rafael Garcia Sanchez.

Whatever you do, have fun with this. This kind of scenery would not be possible with the utilities-tools and support of Pascal Meziat, Tom Hiscox, Brian McWilliams, Trevor de Stigter, Rafael Garcia Sanchez, Jorn Kudla, Martin "Wizard" Wright, Mike Rennie, Ralf Triebel and Manfred Moldenhauer. Thank you very much!

Installation:

Go to the CFS main scenery folder and make a folder named Wake, under it make a sub-folder named scenery and other named texture.

Unzip all to a temporary folder and copy BGL files directly to the Wake/scenery/sub-folder, and the bmp, oav, pat, r8 and *af files to the Wake/texture/sub-folder.

After copying the structure of that folders has to look exactly like this:

CFS ----
scenery
----- Wake
-------- scenery
-------- texture

Go to CFS and start in freeflight. Add the scenery to the scenery-library
(World / Scenery Library) - Add Scenery.

The BGL path to enter is exactly:

=:\=\scenery\Wake\SCENERY\*.BGL

You may copy and paste the line above!

Name the scenery "Wake" and don't forget to activate it by checking the box!

You can access the initial points by clicking GOTO Airport, the "Wake", airfield are added to the CFS airfields list.
