WA-21 Javelot II Version 1b for FSX
A one seat glider for training and performance, first flight 1958

The first version of the WA-20 Javelot appears in August 1956. This is a welded metal tubes fuselage and
wooden of birch wings glider with a central dihedral. This glider is then considered as an excellent training
glider. It is with this machine that the first composite material parts are introduced: pedals, nose, wheel well,
fairings, etc. In 1958 a simplified version of the Javelot is built under the WA-21 Javelot II denomination.
The WA-21 has a 15 meters span and a three parts wing with a dihedral angle reported to the two external parts only.
This glider matched the FAI's standard class for the world soaring championships. The advertising slogan in 1958
was "from the first solo flight to the gold badge".
These textures are from the real model F-CCEX, serial number 32, built in October 1960. This glider has been
totally restored and repainted by the Merville's soaring club in France. The glider was the young pilot's
preferred plane thanks to her very low flight cost. So they decided to paint her as a warbird, trying to
reproduce a steel aspect, with a splendid nose art. The "A" letter on the horizontal tail is mandatory on
French cars when driven by young drivers. It has been decided to but the same on this glider, flown by young pilots !
La première version du Javelot WA-20 apparaît en août 1956. C'est un planeur de 16 mètres d'envergure
avec dièdre central avec des ailes en bois de bouleau et fuselage constitué d'un treillis métallique.
Cet appareil est considéré comme un excellent planeur d'entraînement. C'est avec cette machine que
sont introduites les premières pièces en matériaux composites : pédales, casseroles de nez, puits de
roue, carénages, etc. En 1958, sort le WA-21 Javelot II, version simplifiée du WA 20 de 15 mètres
d'envergure avec dièdre reporté. Cet appareil correspond à la classe standard de la FAI pour les
championnats du monde de vol à voile. La finalité de cet appareil s'exprime dans son slogan
publicitaire " du lâcher à la couronne d'or ".
Les textures de ce modèle sont celle du F-CCEX, numéro de série 32, construit en octobre 1960. Ce planeur
a été totalement restauré et repeint par le club de Merville en France. Ce planeur était la monture préférée
des jeunes pilotes en raison de son très faible prix à l'heure de vol. Les jeunes du club ont donc décidé de
le repeindre en warbird, tentant de lui donner un aspect d'avion métallique avec un superbe nose art. La lettre A
sur la profondeur est obligatoire sur les voitures françaises lorsqu'elles sont conduites par des conducteurs
débutants. Il a été décidé de coller cette lettre sur ce planeur puisqu'il est le planeur de début des jeunes
pilotes du club !

Installation to FSX
-------------------
Copy the folder WA-21 Javelot II include the subfolders MODEL , PANEL , SOUND and TEXTURE
under your \FSX\SIMOBJECTS\AIRPLANES folder.
Then copy the contents of the folder GAUGES to the FSX subfolder \GAUGES
(If you already have some of these *.gau- or *.cab files, then overwrite them.)
Installation in FSX

Kopiere das Verzeichnis WA-21 Javelot II einschließlich dessen Unterverzeichnisse
MODEL , PANEL , SOUND und TEXTURE unter das \FSX\SIMOBJECTS\AIRPLANES Verzeichnis.
Kopiere den Inhalt des Ordners GAUGES in den FSX\GAUGES - Unterordner.
(Vorhandene Files können überschrieben werden, falls sie älter sind)
