HMCS St. Laurent (II)
Commissioned as a Destroyer Escort (DDE) on 29 October 1955, as the lead ship of the class. Later underwent conversion to Improved St. Laurent class (DDH) completed on 4 October 1963, so as to be able to carry one Sea King. She wore pennant 205 until finally paid off on 14 June 1974

The St. Laurnet Class ships were the first ASW vessels designed and built in Canada. They were some of the very first new ships to appear after the Second World War, and were among the most sophisticated. In the early 1960s, it was decided to convert all seven ships of this class into helicopter carrying destroyers. The aft 3"/50 gun was removed, as well as one of the Limbo mortars, and a helicopter hangar was added instead. Most of these ships served until the late 1980s and early 1990s, providing the backbone of the Canadian Navy for most of that time. The St. Laurent Class FRASER was recently bought by the Nova Scotia Artificial Reef Society (the same group which sank SAGUENAY outside Lunenburg Harbour), to be turned into a museum alongside in Bridgewater, NS

# St_Laurent_Class_DDH
St. Laurent Class frigate(CFS2 object).

Operation:

Use this ship with Mission Builder like any other aircraft carrier. It will allow for a helicopter take off and landings as a airbase.

Set ship waypoint speeds for landings at 30knots (landings will be easier)

I have tried to adjust for a LSO. However, dont follow LSO as you get near the ship. The yaw and pitch on a helo far exceeds the limits of the LSO little brain for such a small landing zone. So, if LSO tells you to wave off ... your on your own and judge for yourself.

I have included and air file and aircraft.config for my H04S horse to work somewhat better with the small frigate. But, again.... I just land without the LSO.

Thats it... have fun.....
