More than 6000 R-5 of all modifications was built. R-5 become the multipurpose workhorse
for aviation, and fulfilled functions as a combat aircraft, a transport and a passenger
aircraftas well. Flying R-5 was not difficult, and everyone remembers it as reliable,
sturdy and more unpretentious than any other type.
