FS2002 1946 Aeronca 7AC Champ

I had created a Champ for FS98 with AF99 some time back. I just upgraded to FSDSv2 and thought the Champ would be a worthy first project; it exercised everything in the program other than keyframe animations. The 7AC Champion was a delightful little tandem seat airplane and was quite popular for its day. I had the opportunity to fly one for about 1 hour back in 1952 or 53. I found it to be somewhat more nimble than a Piper J-3 (just my opinion). I used Paul Matt's beautiful drawings as backgrounds for this project.

INSTALLATION: Unzip Champv2.zip into a temporary folder. Copy the folder Aeronca Champion into the Aircraft folder of FS2002. Open the gauges folder and copy the contents into the Gauges folder of FS2002. Close everything and fire up FS2002. This plane should show as Aeronca 7AC under Aeronca in the aircraft selection list.

PANEL: I found a good picture of a 7AC panel thanks to a Google "Images" search. I used it to create the panel bitmap. The gauge list and location was taken from the drawings. The vintage gauges are courtesy of Phil Profili.

SOUND: I aliased the Cessna 182 sound file but I strongly recommend Aaron Swindle's cub sound; cub2x2sn.zip

LEGAL: This project is released as freeware. You may modify it, repaint it, etc., upload to another website as long as it is not for profit. You need my written permission to use any of these files for commercial purposes; otherwise just give me credit for the original design. This airplane should not hurt your computer but I am not responsible if it causes problems.

Enjoy! Paul Clawson
