FSX and FS2004 Southern Cross Fokker FVII/3m

By Jens B. Kristensen

Version 2.0, june 2007.

The 'Southern Cross' made the first crossing of the Pacific
Ocean by an aircraft, flown by Charles Kingsford-Smith and a
crew of three. They took off from Oakland, California on
May 31, 1928, and arrived at Brisbane, Australia on June 19.

The Southern Cross was, at the time, even more famous than
Charles Lindberg's 'Spirit of St. Louis'. The Southern Cross
is preserved today at Brisbane Airport.

This package includes the aircraft model and ready-made
flights you can use to recreate the 1928 experience.

----

Version 2.0 for FSX and FS2004. The model now works with FSX as
well as FS2004. The panel and virtual cockpit are improved.

----

Installing the aĆrcraft:

*To install for Flight Simulator X:

Just run the included setup program.

*To install for Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight:

1) Important - if you have version 1 (from 2004) installed, you
must remove it before installing version 2.

2) Run the included setup program. When you get to the "Destination
Folder" dialog, click the 'Browse' button and locate your

Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\aircraft

folder.

3) Continue the setup!

----

Installing the flights: I have included the flights as two separate
zip archives, because the two versions of Flight Simulator stores
flights differently. Open the zipfile you want to install, and follow
the instructions in the 'Installing the flights.txt' file.
----

The gauges are mainly default gauges of Flight Simulator 2004.
A few are by myself, with inspiration from MS gauges.

----

This aircraft was originally made with FSDS 2.24, this version with FSDS 3.0.
Textures with Paint Shop Pro and DxtBmp.

It is freeware and must stay that way.

Good luck crossing the Pacific Ocean!
