FS2004 Scenery - Boire Field (KASH) Nashua, NH
version 0.01 alpha - October 6, 2004

By Thomas Perry

-------------------------------------------
Boire field is located just north of the Massachusetts border in the city of Nashua in southern New Hampshire. It is a fairly small yet busy towered general aviation airport with a wide range of traffic from helicopters to small jets. It is also the home of Daniel Webster College's flight training facilities.

These files represent this airfield and are a work in progress. I do not consider it to be of production quality yet, but do consider it good enough to use and quite an improvement on the default, so I thought I would make it available for others. I would appreciate any ideas on how to improve the scenery or offers to help. For instance, the buildings are default buildings using default textures which I tried to match as best I could to the actual buildings. I could really use some help in hangar design, or would love to find some nice clamshell door hangars. I also have not done any optimization for frame rates or loading (don't know how).

The API's I used with this scenery are:
trees_v3.zip - Gerrish Gray

To develop it, I used AFCAD 2.21, SceneGenX Build 28, and Airport for Windows v 3.0 build 192. I started with AFCAD for the runways, moved to SceneGenX for the buildings, and then went to AFW to put in the Gerrish's trees and redo the pond and airport background.

I have installed on my system, and developed these files to fit, USA Roads (www.flight1.com), FSGenesis Terrain and Landclass (www.SurClaro.com and portal.fsgenesis.net), and Jim Keir's Maine coastline scenery (Maine.zip, available at www.jimkeir.co.uk/FlightSim/scenery.html ), which contains improved water (lakes, rivers and streams) for this area. I definately suggest you install each of these 4 items.

What's next? I'd like to redo the hangars with the correct buildings. I'd also like to add some of the stores and buildings along rt 101a next to the airport. Finally, I'd like to understand traffic better so I get some traffic at the airport.

Let me know if you have any questions or if you have any suggestions or would like to help me improve this airfield.

Thanks!

Installation - Scenery

- Copy the "Addon Scenery" directory to your "Flight Simulator 9" directory. You should end up with 7 files with "KASH" in their name in your "Flight Simulator 9/Addon Scenery/Scenery" directory.

- Install Gerrish's trees if you have not already done so. Follow the directions in the readme file in trees_v3.zip. (Basically, copy the "trees_v3.zip/scenery.zip/trees_0.bgl" file to your "Flight simulator 9/scenery" directory.)
