FS2004 Douglas O-31
The O-31 was one of the first of a long run of Douglas observation planes. It was unique with its gull mounted elliptical wing. I personally think all the "O" models were very attractive; witness that I have modeled 4 of them. I still think the O-46 is one of the best looking planes, ever. There were very few of the O-31's produced and every one seems a little different. My drawings show 3 different vertical fins and several gear versions. I picked the versions for which I could find actual pictures and make no other claims for authenticity. This model has moving control surfaces, sliding canopies, nav lights, a bit of a specular color shine, crew members and a Virtual Cockpit. I am not a fan of VC's but I developed this one to refresh my memory after a couple of years and to see the differences with FSDS2.24. Also, the VC shows how little visibility there was from the pilot's seat. Perhaps that is the reason only a few were produced. This project was created with FSDS2.24 and compiled directly into FS2004. I do not believe it will work "as is" in any other sim.

INSTALLATION: Unzip O31.zip into a temporary folder. Copy the folder Douglas O-31 into the Aircraft folder of FS2004. Open the gauges folder and copy the gauge into the Gauges folder of FS2004. NOTE: I included this gauge (F6F3) because I really don't remember if it is a default gauge or not. This plane will show in the Aircraft slelection list under Douglas as the O-31.

LEGAL: This project is released as freeware. You may modify it, repaint it, etc., upload to another website as long as it is not for profit. You need my written permission to use any of these files for commercial purposes; otherwise just give me credit for the original design. This airplane should not hurt your computer but I am not responsible if it causes problems.
