ABOUT THE SCENERY:

As you may know by now if you have downloaded some of my other works, I am from New Jersey. Therefore, I like to showcase some airports in NJ every now and then. Somerset is another installment in my New Jersey Airport series. It's a small airport west of Newark. One thing you need to do, and that's watch out for the trees on your final approach. The scenery was created with FSDS2 and for those who have Lago's FSE, there is a .SE2 file to further enhance the scenery. All of the AI aircraft are default, so there is nothing to download unless you wish to add to the dynamic scenery flight plan yourself. Have a great flight!

INSTALLATION:

Hopefully I've made this step by step installation guide user friendly. If there is any part you don't understand, fell free to email me and I will try to assist you the best I can.

Again, I hope you have unzipped the ksmq_v1 zip file to a temporary folder and are reading this readme file now.

Step 1. Set your unzip utility to use/create folders, then unzip the ksmq_scen.zip file to the drive where your FS2004 is located.
Results of step 1: A folder named fs2k4_scenery\ksmq\scenery should be created on your drive. In the scenery sub-folder should be the *.bgl files. Also, the start-up files NJ - Somerset Airport.FLT and NJ - Somerset Airport.WX Should be in the My Documents\Flight Simulator Files folder and the AF2_KSMQ.bgl file should be in the Addon Scenery\scenery folder of FS2004 (or however you named the folder where your flight simulator is located.)
Step 2. Open the KSMQFLTPLN.txt file and copy the contents to the flightplansxxxxxx file in Lee Swordy's Traffic Tools v2 (If you don't have traffic tools, you can download it from SurClaro) Download all necessary aircraft and install them into FS. Now add them to the Aircraftxxxxxx file in traffic tools as per the Readme file of TTools. Don't forget to change the AC#'s in the flightplans file for kgeg to follow sequence with the AC#'s in YOUR traffic tools Aircraft file.
Step 3. Download and install Lee Swordy's AFCAD v2.11. Open AFCAD and enter the Tools menu and select the Aircraft Editor. There, for each aircraft used in the scenery, designate the livery. If the livery is not available, designate the type of parking. For example Cargo, or C or Mil_cargo or MR etc. This will help assign the aircraft to the proper parking space. You may not need to assign spaces for a small ga airport.
Step 3a.If you have Lago's FSE, and there is a *.SE2 file with this download, then move the *.SE2 file into the FS2004\Lago\FSE\Data folder.
Step 4. Start FS and select settings, then Scenery Library. Now select Add Area and install the scenery in the usual manner. Now shut down FS.
Step 5. Re-start FS and this time select Select a Flight. At the top select My Saved Flights. At the bottom, find NJ - Somerset Airport and highlight it and click OK.
Step 6. Have a happy and safe flight.

I hope I didn't leave anything out. You can email me at the address below for comments/questions. I will try to answer as soon as possible and as many as possible.
