COME AND SEE US!!!!!

NOTE: The default Microsoft ADF radio (Bendix-King) has a four-digit-plus-decimal (xxxx.xx) tuner, to tune in AM radio stations. Everything else seems to be slaved around this, so when you tune my ADF radio to, say, 414, you may actually have set it to 1414 - which may pick up a radio station in Pascaloosa, but won't tune in any NDB in the Known World. So, to be sure, I've included the whole default radio stack as a pop-up (shift+3) so you can tune the ADF there if it doesn't work. I tried like hell to solve this - spent whole days trying other digit-only ADFs - and to my dismay have had to resign myself to Bendix-King. Sigh. If anyone knows a fix for this please let me know and we'll upload it.

NOTE2: BE SURE YOU HIT 'L' TWICE BEFORE STARTING OR YOU WILL BE FLYING WITH THE PASSENGER DOOR OPEN AND RAMP ATTACHED. OR TURN THE NAV LIGHTS ON AND OFF AND ALWAYS FLY WITH THE NAV LIGHTS ON.

KEYBOARD COMMANDS

shift+2 = Default GPS
shift+3 = Default radio stack
i=machine guns (also drops A-Bomb)
ii (double punch i) Nuclear weapon discharge without machine guns - suggested altitude 5,000 AGL - then get the hell out. For bomb sound, arm the switch on centerpost and hit it before you drop the bomb, then hit i and look straight down (shift+numpad5). Or set spot plane to "nose on" and watch the bomb drop when you hit i or ii(if you don't want machine guns) and wait for a while. KABOOM! (if you've also hit "FIRE" switch on centerpost - do this before hitting ii and going to spot plane view.)
FOR REGULAR BOMBS: Make sure the arming device on centerpost is armed, then flip switch under "Fire" - do not do this on the ground as you will be blown to bits, and Val-U-Prop assumes no liability.

STERN LEGAL WARNING

This aircraft is based on the extraordinary work of Jan Visser, to whom we owe many thanks for his superb work. Any re-use of this aircraft without his express permission is strictly forbidden. Please consult the text file "Designer" included with this package for further details.

I thank Jan for the generous use of his work.

The photographs included in this package are protected by the copyright of their authors and any further use of them, except to sites that distribute them as FREEWARE, without the written consent of the photographers, is forbidden. The photographers can all be reached through www.airliners.net and are:

I wish to thank these nice folks for their generous cooperation and superb photography. Please respect their rights!

INSTALLATION:
1) Unzip the zip file into a temporary directory.
2) Unzip the gauges directly into the MAIN FS2002 Gauges folder. It's OK to overwrite files as anything I've changed I've renamed. When prompted click "yes".
3) In the aircraft directory of FS2002 make a new folder (click "file" then "new" then "folder") and name it Douglas DC-3 Val-U-Prop Cargo (right mouse click on folder, then hit "rename" when the drop box comes down, then type in Douglas DC-3 Val-U-Prop Cargo).
4) Move or copy aircraft.cfg (aircraft) and air file (valu) into this folder.
5) Unzip the files marked MODEL, PANEL, SOUND, TEXTURE into a temporary directory. These should form folders which you can then move or copy into the folder you've made called "Douglas DC-3 Valu".

Place the two fx files into your Efeects folder of fs2002.

Unzip he file labeled BOMB" and place the WAV file therein into the MAIN sound folder of fs2002

I've aliased the Beechcraft Baron 58 sounds to this aircraft, but only as a temporary measure. There are many fine sound files for the DC-3 at SurClaro and other sites and I suggest you find one you like and install it instead.

That's it!

VIEWS

Making sure that the "num lock" is off, you can enjoy the wing views by hitting shift+numpad 4 or 6, and you can watch the poor slobs in the cabin by hitting shift+numpad 2

HELP

Does anyone know how to make a Val-U-Prop ATC designation? Way over my head, but if you can do it, let's upload it, giving you all credit. Thanks

VAL-U-Prop VA is up and running - uh . . FLYING . . Check it out at the URL above.
