With great memories and many pictures, they were able to express the JOY they encountered while there. Please send Larry & Judy Deuster a special note for shareing their REAL adventure at: larryd@paulbunyan.net

~ DISCRIPTION - COMMENTS - LOCATIONS - VIEWS ~

(This scenery was created using the Freeware scenery design program Airport 210 and my Gateway 400Mhz Pentium II - 128 ram - 16Mb Voodoo Banshee AGP)

AK 28 - CHENA MARINA
Setting almost right next to Fairbanks Intl Airport, Chena Marina Airport, AK28, is home to many wheeled and float aircraft. The gravel runway is over 4,000 feet in length and the dredged out, Chena Marina Pond, is almost as long which makes it nice for many small floatplanes and larger seaplanes. Please check out the real Chena Marina Airport at the Airnav web site at: http://www.airnav.com/airport/AK28.
One end of this default runway had texture and elevation problems so I fixed this with the Flatten Switch. Included in your download is an OPTIONAL STATIC AIRCRAFT scenery add-on.

HIDDEN LAKE
Designed using some real photos and a drawing, Hidden Lake is about a 45 minute flight from Chena Marina at heading 219 degrees. Also, Hidden lake was found to be an FS2000 default lake with almost the same shape except FS uses straight sided textures for these areas. I placed another FS2k default lake texture over it and rounded the edges for realism so it is a little larger than the real thing. And again, the Flatten Switch was used here to sink it in to the default Alaska forest. Larry and Judy's Cessna pilot, Rick Gould, flew in the lumber to build the cabins and Ron Acherley duplicated Rick's cabin and shed using the photo shown in the Readme.1st.HTM file. Great job Ron!

~ ACKNOWLEDGMENTS ~
Ron Acherley, thanks for the great 3D Macros of Rick Gould's cabin, shed, dock, and the real cool looking Moose macros. Ron's a true graphic artist and FS friend, his works are known throughout the FS community. Please visit Ron's web site at:http://www.fsadventure.com/

I really owe Mr. John Grammer of Indiana, USA a great big "THANKS" for getting me started in creating Bush Pilot Sceneries. It was John's original idea and I created my first Bush scenery (Dark Lake) only 16 miles from his remote lake called A FISHING CAMP. I get the MOST pleasure from doing these Created Bush Pilot Sceneries. THANK YOU VERY MUCH JOHN !

A Big thanks to Brian McWilliams and the entire Flight Sim Group for creating the Scenery design program Airport 210 which I used to create this scenery. The APT210 program is a freeware program and is really quite easy to use. Please go to the Flightsimgroup home page at: http://www.flightsimgroup.com/ and check it out.

I enjoy ADDING 3rd Party 3D Macros to the scenery file so the FS user has a more pleasent and enjoyable experience. And I want to give a Super Big Thank You to the following designers for their hard work and effort to help make my sceneries look way they are.

Mark Remien For creating all the great "Wild Life" macros. The great Alaskan outdoors needs wild life for sure. Thanks Mark !

Gerrish Gray For the super nice Log Cabin macros. His Cabin macros really adds much to the realism in FS2000. I really enjoy them!

*************************
These sceneries have been zipped together in the correct folders provided, to ensure you the best and easiest installation. PLEASE do not remove any files or folders from the chenam folder. For a PERFECT FULL INSTALLATION of these TWO scenery locations, PLEASE follow ALL STEPS BELOW.

STEP 1 UN-zip the chenam.zip file to ANY location on your hard drive. FS2000 will read ALL files from there. Oh yea, you've done that!

STEP 2 START the FS2000 program then CLICK the WORLD MENU and SELECT the SCENERY LIBRARY option. Then in the Scenery Library window, CLICK the ADD AREA botton which will bring up the SELECT SCENERY DIRECTORY window (browser). Now in that window, CLICK the botton in the upper LOOK IN box to LOCATE and HIGHLIGHT the chenam\Scenery folder. ( just HIGHLIGHT the folder ) Then TYPE: CHENA MARINA in the lower box called the SCENERY AREA TITLE box and CLICK OK then CLICK the GREEN CHECKMARK. AT THIS POINT, FS2000 WILL INSTALL THE SCENERIES AND MAY APPEAR TO GO CRAZY! (THAT'S OK LET IT) AFTER THE SCENERIES ARE INSTALLED, DO NOT GO TO THE SCENERY LOCATIONS, INSTEAD, SHUT DOWN AND EXIT FS2000 !

STEP 3 I've provided a text file enclosed in the chenam folder called FLATTEN SWITCH.txt, OPEN this file and COPY ALL THREE SWITCH LINES just like they are, then go to your main FS2000 folder and OPEN the SCENERY.CFG file. SCROLL down to the CHENA MARINA entry and PASTE ALL THREE Flatten Switch lines to the next line under the entry.

STEP 4 After you've completed STEP 3, EXIT the SCENERY.CFG file and SAVE the changes.

"INSTALLATION IS NOW COMPLETE"

To locate the sceneries while flying, go to the GO TO AIRPORT option in FS2000 and CLICK the botton for 6.0 SCENERIES AND BEFORE.

*************************************
OPTIONAL STATIC AIRCRAFT INSTALLATION
*************************************
Unzip the enclosed static.zip file to any temporary folder. Then open the folder and COPY the file called chenasa.bgl and PASTE it into your chenam\Scenery folder. Then go back to the static folder and COPY the rest of the files and PASTE them into your chenam\Texture folder.

:NOTE: If you get poor FRAME RATES after installing the static aircraft, delete the optional files mentioned above. Some video cards can't seem to handle too much scenery.
