Version 2.0 by Rolf Dieter Bückmann - 1999

----------------------------------------------

REQUIREMENTS:

You need Microsoft's FS98 patch1 and FSCONV. Download it from Microsoft, FlightSim, Avsim or other fine Web site.

----------------------------------------------

DESCRIPTION:

- Advanced Learjet 45 panel for 1024x768 resolution, 2D/3D, with 3 CRT's, 2 of them switchable.
- Highly functional, with full working buttons and knobs, except for some small fake buttons on radio displays.
- Includes gauges from well-known authors and some from myself specially programmed for it.
- Reserves special place for David Drouin's GPS 98, Chris Brett's EFIS,(shareware for download), E. Chan's NavDash (!) or other devices that could be placed at the blank CRT's.
- Switches for map display, utilities, engine start panel with
fuel pumps, working enunciator, autobrake, and mouse commanded park brake.

----------------------------------------------
WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 2.0:

- Many parts of original BMP and gauges are repainted, you will notice which. This includes the masks behind the panel to allow good 3D display and avoid bleeding of the Rose.
- The CRT button bar is a now a gauge! Much better display and INTERLOCKING between displays
- Left CRT knob turns and has 3 positions, 2 blank, good if you want use Tony Ambrosio's vectorial displays or to place EFIS, moving maps, etc.
- The new WARNING ENUNCIATOR is programmed from scratch and every thing works. GEAR lights when vertical speed is negative, plane to ground altitude under 500 feet and gear up.
- The AUTOCOORDINATION switch is now included in the utilities assembly. In the former place you will notice a CHECK light. This glows when you have an excessive pitch trim (+ or -), system failures or simulator time rate not equal to 1.
- The night-lights are corrected for all gauges
- The scales are reworked. Notice the correction of analogic AIRSPEED indicator, which starts at 60 knots. The ATTITUDE coordinates its scale with the PFD indication.
- The light switch assembly, also new, includes Air Conditioner, no smoking and seat belts lights. The on/off positions are displayed on the pilot lamp bar below 1st CRT, which not includes panel light for obvious reasons.
- The right radio stack now displays DME1 and DME2. Both stacks are on/off switchable. AS above you may notice the lack of SWITCH SOUND. The problem is that I don't know how to program this YET!
- Panel experts will notice that the AutoPilot was condensed in two gauges. This saves space and gives faster response. Many other gauges where condensed and reworked for this reason: the panel.cfg file has now about half of the gauges and most of them, smaller in size. The bitmaps were reduced to minimum, and some eliminated, when redundant and possible.

----------------------------------------------
INSTALLATION of version 2.0:

YOU DON'T NEED THE FORMER VERSION.

IF YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH PANEL INSTALATION, You may proceed as standard for web panels, and don't need to read the stuff below.

Otherwise:

First you may delete all older gauges named "learrdb.*.gau". It's not necessary, but saves disk space.

1. Unzip all files in a temp folder.
2. Unzip GAUGES.ZIP in "..\Gauges" directory from your FS98 and allow overwrite.
3. Make a directory in "..\FSFSConv" called "panel.learrdb"
4. Unzip PANEL.ZIP into this new directory.
6. You may move the remaining files (Readme, Autobrake.txt, etc.) in the above directory.
5. Go to FS98 "...Aircraft\\panel" directory for the plane you
want to assign, make a backup for "just in case" and edit the previous existing file panel.cfg to JUST:

[fltsim]
alias=FSFSConv\panel.learrdb

6. Start the sim and select your plane... The new panel
should be there.

---------------------------------------------------

USER INFORMATION AND TIPS:

1. Don't use the keyboard to switch displays, this will confuse the CRT button bar.

!!!!!!!!! VERY IMPORTANT !!!!!!!!!

They are two RESET points for the CRT's, wich are usefullL to repair CRT shuffling necessary after situation reset or in any other case:
a- The small brown-yellow point on the right bottom of the central CRT -> Click there to correct the red "on" display.
b- The CENTER of the command knob of the right CRT -> Click there with the RIGHT
button of the mouse.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. Switch the Map view if you want and drag it with the MOUSE click in the CROSS-CENTER, to the hairlines in the second CRT display.

3. The parkbrake lever works. Click on it.

4. There is a radio altimeter on the right top of PFD display.
The OMI indicator was moved to middle low left.

5. You have a windspeed /direction indicator in the top of the ROSE display.

6. The new CHECK button lights on excessive trim, system (except electrical) failure, some gauges failures and not standard time rate.

7. The GEAR lights when you forgot "gear down"
on landing.

8. The radios can be turned on/off. Click on the radio knob.

9. For correct UTILITIES use, read G.Copeland instructions below. The PAUSE and SLEW modes will automatically DISABLE when you leave the panel -> this is NOT FS98 standard!

10. AUTCRD OFF disables the ailerons-rudder coordination. That's necessary for some maneuvers and cross wind landings.

11. Try ALL knobs and buttons!

12. If you want to delete the dispensable red display (Pause, brake, overspeed and so on) on the scenery window, go to the web and download the patches they have to do this.

13. When you switch between 2D and 3D mode, the CRT's will set to OFF to avoid shuffling of display modes.

3RD PART ADD-ON'S

1. AUTOBRAKE by Laurent Crenier

See Autobrake.txt

2. UTILITIES SWITCHES by Glen Copeland:

These utility switches can be used instead of the Keyboard Shortcut or Flight Simulator Menu. The following functions can be performed:

1. MAP- toggles the map view on/off.
2. +/- BUTTON- Zooms in/out on map if MAP is on.
3. CK LIST- toggles through checklists.
4. PAU- Toggles pause on/off.
5. SLE- Toggles slew on/off.

If you use a switch to turn on a function, then use
the switch to turn off function, NOT A MENU COMMAND OR KEYBOARD SHORTCUT. Example: Click on MAP switch. Map view will open in aircraft window. To close map view, reclick on MAP SWITCH. DO NOT right click in map window and choose 'Close View'. Doing so, will cause MAP switch to get out of its on/off sequence. PAU and SLE switches do likewise. If you use a keyboard shortcut or menu to open a function, then use the same to close the function, NOT A SWITCH.

IMPORTANT-: Please read the HGHB-readme.txt file
- Microsoft - FS98, SDK - the key to gauges.
- Mike Weerasinghe - TogglePanel gauges (v.1).
- OMR, Nikos Kriticos - Stall warning gauge (v.1).

Some gauges are not in use on version 2.0, but the original idea moves me to develop new features.

Many thanks to all!

(UN)KNOWN BUGS:

I hope to have solved the display problems with 3D cards.

Please report bugs if you detect one! - Thanks.

--------------------------------------------------
WHAT NEXT:

- I want to put clicking sound on all switches, but I don't master this program technique now.
- As above, a nice sound for the air conditioner.
- I wish I could put the map automatically in the CRT center, without dragging it to place.
