USE WORD WRAP

A REALLY STERN LEGAL WARNING

ACHTUNG!!!! The photographs in this package are used with the permission of the photographers for this package only. Any further use or distribution for money or for free, except to flightsim sites as FREEWARE, is strictly forbidden without the express written consent of the photographers. They may be contacted through airliners.net at http://www.airliners.net/ unless otherwise indicated. Their work is as follows:

Wing Views: copyright Thomas Andre Hjelmen. e-mail: thomas_andre_hjelmen@hotmail.com
Engine Views: copyright George Canciani
Panel: copyright Robert Jones
Cabin: copyright Ben Wang

This panel is the result of their work, and I am extremely grateful for their cooperation.

INSTALLATION

Unzip the gauges (gauges.zip) directly into the FS2002 Main Gauges Directory.
Unzip the panel (panel.zip) directly into the DC-3 Panel Folder of your choice. NOTE: Make sure this folder is empty before unzipping or strange things may happen. The alternative is to unzip these files into a temporary directory, then move or copy them into the appropriate places.

NOTES

I was unable to fit the radios onto the main panel and there are no engine start-up switches. I did not wish to wreck the perfect symmetry of Robert Jones' photograph, so:

Shift+2 brings up GPS
Shift+3 brings up radio stack
Control+E will start both engines separately if you just hold it down for a few seconds.
Make sure that the GPS/Nav switch is set to what you're doing. If you're flying using navaids make sure that NAV is set or your gauges may not work correctly.
Autopilot: Heading can be adjusted using the orange knob at the lower right of the directional gyro. Note orange bug on dial: That's where the autopilot will fly to.
Fuel gauges do not register until the auxiliary tanks are empty.

VIEWS

Standard views are used, although I have somewhat modifed angles, left, right and vertically to match the photo angles. So use shift+numpad+4 for left view; shift+numpad+6 for right view, etc. There are no right and left rear views, since I couldn't find any I liked - and anyway, they just show the trailing edge of the wing, and not much of that. The sky is fine here, I think.

The panel (forward) view has been shifted down slightly, becuase I am tired of not being able to see over the nose on climb out. On the ground, however, you'll still need to "raise your seat" (shift+enter) to taxi, or see anything at all, for that matter. Very realistic, that. (Have you ever noticed that in old film footage, say, on The History Channel, that when a DC-3 is taxiing you almost always see the pilot's head sticking out the side window?)

RADIOS

Many aircraft are not equipped to utilize NAV2. If this is a problem with your DC-3, make sure NAV/GPS is switched to "nav". If this doesn't work, go to the aircraft.cfg file (the one that says "aircraft") in the MAIN aircraft folder, MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF IT, then scroll down to "autopilot" then copy and paste the following UNDERNEATH that section of the file:

[Radios]
// Radio Type=availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope
//Audio.1=1
Com.1=1, 0
//Com.2=1, 1
Nav.1=1, 0, 1
Nav.2=1, 0, 0
Adf.1=1
Transponder.1=1
Marker.1=1

Now, if THAT doesn't work try removing what you just pasted and paste and copy THIS:

[Radios]
// Radio Type=availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1=1
Com.1=1, 1
Com.2=1, 1
Nav.1=1, 1, 1
Nav.2=1, 1, 0
Adf.1=1
Transponder.1=1
Marker.1=1

I'm not sure why, but there are some variables in different aircraft that require one or the other.
