Avro Lancaster Mk X Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum
An aircraft and panel for FS2K by Keith Clifford
Pegasus Aviation Design

Features include moving parts, reworked air file for FS2K,
FS2K checklists and a new instrument panel.

Installation:
Unzip all files except Lancgauges to your FS2K Aircraft Folder.

Unzip the contents of Lancgauges to your FS2K Gauge Folder.

You'll be ready to fly but you will have the default Cessna sound :^(

Strongly Recommended! Mike Hambly's 4merlins sound file. It is available at SurClaro
Do a file search for it. :^)

It is by far the best rendition of a four engine RR Merlin powered aircraft that I've
encountered.

This is a rework for FS2K of Lanc27, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum's Lancaster. It
is one of only two airworthy Lancs in the world. I have tweaked the .air file for FS2K so that the aircraft sits on the ground properly. I've also made the elevator trim less
sensitive so that it closer resembles the real thing. In order to turn her on the ground you
will have to use differential braking ( F11 and F12 ) along with some opposite engine. A
fast way to turn tightly is to slew using the rudder. The .air file will work with all of
my Lancasters so if you have a favourite you wish to fly in FS2K just substitute this one for the original .air file.

The background bitmap for the panel is a composite image that was taken from a digital image
I took of the cockpit of C-GVRA, the Lancaster Mk X owned by the Canadian Warplane Heritage
Museum at Hamiliton, Ontario.

The master switches and magnetos work! Thanks to Dai Griffiths for your excellent work.
Make sure that the props and mixture are set full up! ( Ctrl + F4 and Ctrl + Alt + F4 )

(Shift + 2) brings up the autopilot, (Shift + 3) brings up the radio stack.

I have left out the FS2K GPS as the original Lancs didn't have them. There were however
beam approach systems which resemble the early ILS installation so a VOR1 gauge is included.

This is likely the LAST Lancaster release before I get into using FSDS.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

The airspeed indicator is a repaint of Jon Shepherd's excellent
OAPASI gauge. His original gauge is found as oapasi1 at SurClaro.

The dfd_* gauges are copyright of Dai Griffiths of Dragonflight Design and used in
accordance with the conditions indicated in his readme files

All other gauges are repaints of the stock FS98
gauges to give them a WW2 flavour.

Best wishes,
