This is the rework of an old FS5x scenery designed by Marcel Ritzema. In my opinion his work is still the best Edwards scenery ever designed for FS. No other scenery in any FS version or scenery package can compete with it. Taxiways, control tower, hangars and dry lakes just look like in reality.
I have spend some time on reworking textures and hacking into the BGLs to correct some visual problems and to make this scenery even better. Unfortunately this scenery is not absolutely compatible with FS98. If you fly some miles out of Edwards you will see roads twice. Rosamond Skypark and General Fox Airfield get wrong altitude data. Decide for yourself if you can accept these problems, I personally can live with them.
I have not been able to contact the original author of this scenery to ask him for permission to publish this package (e-mail adress is too old), but I hope he agrees.
1. Unzip this archive to a temporary directory. You will get a folder called 'Edwards AFB' including all necessary files. ('Use folder names' must be activated in WinZip.)
2. Open your Scenery library (say 'yes' if you get stupid warnings),
click the 'Files' button, click the 'Add' button.
3. Write the path to the 'Scenery' subfolder of the 'Foch' folder
(e. g. C:\Fs98\Scenery\Edwards AFB \Scenery\*.bgl) and add a scenery name.
Activate the scenery, give it a name and give it layer 1.
4. Close all windows, always clicking 'okay'.
5. Go to the scenery in the section for old sceneries (FS6.0 or lower).
This scenery of Edwards AFB & NASA's Dryden. This complex is the
main flight-test center in the USA. It has got one of the longest
runways in the world, 4,5 km. Besides that, next to the airport
are very big dry lakebeds, which are used as landingstrips.
In the early years of the Space Shuttle project this lakebeds
where the normal lokation where shuttle landed.
In the scenery the Rogers and Rosamond (see edw-surr.pcx for
lokation) are defined as "runway" so you can land and take-off
there with all "crash-options" on.
This is a pre-release cause i am still missing some info on
Edwards AFB. I'am still looking for the folwing information,
if you can help me with this, please do!
-exact lokation of the control-tower of Edwards
-information on the landing strips on Rogers Dry Lakebed.
-information (maps) of Edwards's South base.

2. copy edwards.bgl to \fltsim5\scenery
3. copy *.r8 and *.oav to \fltsim5\texture
