INFO:

CFB North Star is a fictional airport, located on the north side of Banks Island in Northwest Territories, Canada. The airport would be home to a squadron of fighter aircraft, as well as a transport contingent of the Canadian Armed Forces. Charter commercial aircraft would also make regular stops here. The base would feature buildings employing minimal environmental footprint; for example, geothermics would provide the main power source. In actuality Banks Island is mostly uninhabited, save for the village of Sachs Harbour on it's south side, which has a population of just over 100. The island is also home to a large protected area known as Aulavik National Park, located to the east of this scenery. The inspiration for creating this project came about through my experience with another fictional addon scenery named CBOR, which had also been situated on Banks Island. The Arctic has always fascinated me, and although having never visited, it would be a dream vacation to take someday. With recent interest in the far North and it's resources, this represents my idea of a concept Canada might explore (although at not insignificant cost), one that would surely provide our country with a solid influence in this part of the world.

VERSION 7 UPDATE:

- Reverts to the original three-runway layout, arranged in a perfectly triangular configuration, with runways numbered using true North values
- Includes three variations of the same scenery, with options for opened hangars, static vehicle traffic, and aircraft parking (by selecting one of the four sceneries provided at a time)
- Includes many custom library objects, reducing the number of addon libraries required to be downloaded; also, LOD models used for all custom scenery objects to help enhance sim performance
- Adds ground markings and revised hangar floors giving a painted-on appearance, as well as displaying ground shadows upon them if these are enabled
- Option provided for AI ship traffic (ship included), e.g., the icebreaker CCGS Louis S. St-Laurent
- Option provided for seasonal summer/winter AI traffic (aircraft not included), to provide some variation in flight patterns
- All other improvements offered with Version 4 are also also included with this release
