FS2004 CV-74 USS Stennis

This is an update for my previous model of the USS Stennis. It is basically the same, but, as I have become more proficient in the use of Makemdl I have added deck lights, fantail lights, a rotating beacon light and a rotating radar dish. It has a hardened deck for use with aircraft equiped with the rcbco-20 catapult and arrestor gauges. I would like to thank Bruce Barker again for the use of his carrier wake effect. I have included the coordinates for the arrestor zone and catapult zone for the carrier at its current location just outside the San Diego Ca. Naval Station. The .mdl and xml file you need to relocate the carrier with Bglcomp are included.
Please note I have offset the origin of the carrier back towards the stern so it will line up correctly with the wake effect. When you create a flight the airplane will be close to the stern so just taxi forward to the back end of one of the catapults before you save the flight.
After careful consideration, I have not added an ILS or other nav aids to this project. I personally believe this is best done after the fact in Afcad. You will want to tweak the position and heading of the ILS because the landing deck is about 7.5 degrees off from the centerline of the main deck. Also, the meatball in rcbco-20 does not require an ILS to operate; it relies on the entry in the arrestor gear .ini file.
If you have the earlier version of the Stennis installed I suggest you remove it and replace it with this version in its entirety.

INSTALLATION: Unzip CV_74.zip into a temporary folder. Copy the folder called USS Stennis into the Add On scenery folder in FS2004. Open the Effects folder and copy the wake effect into the FS2004 Effects folder. Activate the scenery through the scenery library and you are good to go. The ship will show in the airport list as STEN toward the bottom of the San Diego, Ca. listings.
I have included a text file that contains the coordinates for the rcbco-20 catapult and arrestor gear .ini files. Copy and paste the data into the appropriate files; please follow the well written instructions in the rcbco-20 documents.

MOVING INSTRUCTIONS: Open the folder called "Moving Stuff" and copy the 2 files directly into your BGLComp folder. Now slew an airplane to the new desired location. Jot down the 2 coordinates and heading from the top of FS2004. Right click on the Stennis XML file and open with Notepad. Use Notepad and nothing else or the syntax will get corrupted. You will see 3 places where the coordinates and heading are entered. Replace the existing enteries with the new ones and close the XML file. Note, if you want STEN to show up somewhere other than San Diego Ca in the airport list you need to change the entries for city and state etc in the XML file. Now run BGLcomp. If you are running XP you just have to drag the XML file on top of bglcomp.exe. You will see a short flash of a black screen and in a few seconds a new Stennis .bgl file will appear. If it says it is about 326 kb in size you had a successful compile. If it is small like 1 kb you made a mistake in entering the coordinates.
Copy the new Stennis.bgl file into the add-on scenery> USS Stennis>scenery folder. If you have been good, the carrier will show up at the new location.

I have created the necessary files to move the carrier with BGLComp, so please don't ask me to move it for you as I just don't have the time.

LEGAL: This project is released as freeware. You may modify it, repaint it, etc., upload to another website as long as it is not for profit. Also, if any modifications were made to my files before uploading to another site, I cannot be responsible for their performance. You need my written permission to use any of these files for commercial purposes; otherwise just give me credit for the original design. This airplane should not hurt your computer but I am not responsible if it causes problems.
