Belize city V 2.0 for FS2004

After doing a rough version of Belize city for FSX (see fsxtzaam.zip) I had many request for a better version with more accurate shorelines, emplacements and VFR guides. I never was able to do it because I have deleted FSX from my computer and rebuilt FS2004 as much as possible.

FSX may have its advantages but try to make a landing at a big airport such as JFK or Heathrow with as much AI traffic as there would be in the real world and up to 100 planes in the area... right, even with a powerful machine and lots of RAM you would get a 10 framerate at low density or something like that. With FS2004, under the same circumstances you can put the density sliders to max and still get 25-30 FPS at 1600*1200 pixels resolution.

So, I went back to make a Belize scenery but for the good old FS2004...

Even though this scenery looks like a low resolution satellite image it contains compromises, mostly due to the shortcomings of the original scenery in FS2004, where the only accurate thing about Belize is the emplacement of Goldson International.

I have opted to make the scenery as accurate as possible and the compromises in the connexion to the original FS scenery. Which means that near Belize city there are now two bays that do not exist in reality. So, before I get the e-mails: I know that...but it is the only way to do it without remapping most of Central America (BTW, in FSX it is no better).

The good old Municipal Airport (IATA TZA, ICAO no designator) is also in the scenery, in an enhanced and actualized version. I have also included the two terminals (huts) I originally made for this airport (see municipal.v1.1.zip) as many people were disappointed because they were not in the FSX version. There are two undefined buildings at the entrance of the airport, I have put them there. The old designator MZ55 is still valid so if you use Maya Island or Tropic Air AI traffic it should still work.

Installation

If you have installed municipal.v1.1.zip remove ADD_tza.BGL, TZA municipal.bgl from your addon scenery folder (or wherever you have put them).

If you have scenery_belize_airstrips_vol1.zip installed remove AF2_T ZA.bgl.

The easy way is to just unzip this to any folder and drop all *.bgl file into your addon scenery/scenery folder and all *.BMP files into your addon scenery/texture folder. Even though this works quite well I advise against it because those folders get quite messy after a time and maintenace as good as impossible. Better is to unzip this and place the Belize folder in your addon scenery folder, then start FS2004, select Settings and there scenery library where you add a new scenery by navigating to the Belize folder. Move it down to the other city sceneries (ie. Tokio, London, Paris etc).
